“Underwater Elevator” is the fourth and final single being released from Sam’s upcoming project, “Heavy Hearts”, the highly anticipated sequel to his fan favorite “Play Pretend” EP, both collaborations with his childhood friend, musician/composer Maggie Lou May. It also features local Seattle singer-songwriter, Mount Planet, who actually co-wrote the song. His little brother introduced him to her music and Sam fell in love with her one of a kind sound. He used her original hook and finished writing the song during a stint in rehab. This song fuses Sam’s signature hip hop beats with indie pop melodies and features an array of live instruments. This is his first time really experimenting with this genre and not including any rap verses in a song.
