I & II - LIVE

There I was sitting on my couch at home by myself, having a glass of wine listening to Erykah Badu. I get up start dancing around my lounge room. I catch myself in the midst of all of this. I catch myself, loving, embracing and basking in my own company - pure happiness is what I felt. I got out a notebook, and started to write... 

This was a major turning point in my life. This moment was the first time in months I had felt happy, after going through a lot of emotional trauma. I finally felt a lot of the pain from the past drop away and I realised who I was. I used to go driving and blast music late at night when I felt anxious or overwhelmed with all the emotions I was experiencing, and I would keep driving until I felt strong enough to go home and confront myself some more. 
Now, I crave my own company, the solitude music, art, meditation and all of these things bring me. Time to myself to just sit and be with myself, to continually grow the loving relationship I now have with me. 

Its funny, and sort of ironic, losing a relationship with another was the catalyst for something so much deeper with myself and I am forever grateful for everything negative that happened, because it was all orchestrated for the freedom & happiness I now feel, something that I didn't believe was even imaginable some months ago ...
