Hot Creations gear up to drop the eagerly anticipated House & Pressure from hot property Route 94. Echoing the excitement that surrounded his No.1 hit My Love, which shot him to stardom, the record has been in serious demand for months. Now finally ready for release he showcases his versatile skills as a producer over three heavy-weight tracks.

Rowan Jones aka Route 94 explains how he wanted to “put out three tracks that were diverse yet definitive.” Title track House & Pressure packs a real punch and contains the vocals from Joey Negro's classic Ride the Storm featuring Linda Clifford. The dominant female vocal on ‘House & Pressure’ combined with the force of the drum machines is a traditional element that people connect to the Route 94 productions. With ‘Crazy Bitch’ it’s a more of a big room sound, incorporating ghetto elements. ‘Dark Keyless’ is the complete opposite, creating a groove that aims to grab the crowd and let them loose.

This year has seen a succession of big releases and remixes from Route 94 that cement his place amongst the dance music elite including the recent hit Mind, Body & Soul on Crosstown Rebels. The talented producer first saw fame reaching No.1 in the UK charts with My Love featuring Jess Glynne. Keen to remain on the underground scene, he followed with releases and remixes on Leftroom, Defected and Hot Creations. Overwhelming success followed as he performed at the likes of fabric, Sub Club, Space, Ushuaia, DC10 and many more. With a wealth of new material still on the way and a hectic touring schedule in place, it’s clear this is only the start for the young artist.

Amine K is a beloved Moroccan producer who has been making enormous waves with his fresh take on below-ground dance music. His sound, equally inspired by his blistering sunrise DJ sessions at Burning Man as well as being locked in during the darkest debauched warehouse parties in Berlin, has been turning dancefloors inside out.  Amine K’s music is full of vibrant energy and creative magic which is fitting for both the sprawling desert landscape and the claustrophobic energy found inside concrete Techno spaces. His newest release, ‘Hyperion’ is easily one of his best, and is a perfect fit for Tiefschwarz’s very own Souvenir imprint. 

The original version of ‘Hyperion’ is a slow and steady grower. It’s a true sonic trip that effortlessly wraps itself around the listener and tightens its grip with each passing minute. Inspired by an iPhone recording of a snake charmer’s flute during an outing in the Medina of Marrakesh, ‘Hyperion’ emulates the snake charmer’s flute into a twisted synth melody. The melody carefully snakes itself around the track with growing tension while incredibly arranged percussion keeps the tune moving with dynamic energy. ‘Hyperion,’ like the Greek God the track is inspired from, is nothing short of powerful and commanding. 

Remixes from Belgian Duo Raw District (Crosstown Rebels, Innervisions, Souvenir) and Berlin’s Mathias Schober (aka Show B of Lossless) provide incredible interpretations of the original take, each with a perspective offering the EP even more diverse power. Raw District’s remix provides an expert level of musical intensity with cleverly placed melodic synth lines guaranteed to put the dancefloor into a captive spell. Mathias Schober takes the tune deep into the rabbit hole with a reduced version designed for the weirdest hours of the after-party. The EP is complete with a ‘Dub Version’ from Mr. Amine himself which simplifies the tune into the most essential groove.

The Truffles EP marks Fouk's third outing on Heist Recordings, which has served as both a launching pad and a laboratory of sorts for the Dutch duo. With each effort on the label, the Utrecht boys have gradually tinkered their sound. While the Kill Frenzy EP may have marked the peak of the label's deep disco lean, With Lasers displayed exploration from the duo into more hardware and synthesizer-showcasing waters. Truffles furthers the experimentation, with Fouk integrating newer, unexpected flavors into their repertoire.The title track, and our premiere for the occasion, sets its foundation on an uptempo percussion sample and vintage drum programming. A tightly arpeggiated acid bass and throwback pads lead the build up to the main action of the track; a big piano riff that helps shift the tune into its higher gear. "Truffles" is certainly a changeup to the duo's normally hi-fi sample/synth blend, though perhaps it shouldn't come as a complete surprise since Heist has a penchant for pushing its roster of artists to pursue new sonic palettes.The remainder of the EP, on the other hand, is more akin to the Fouk of days past; "I'll be down" and "Need my space" falling more closely in line with the duo's playful deep house sound. Perhaps the presence of piano and drum machine motifs tie the EP together in a way, conceptually speaking. To round things out, Hugo LX's remix of "I'll be down" is a chilled jazzy house affair accentuated by a sultry trumpet lead.Truffles is available on 12" vinyl on March 22, and digitally three days later on March 25.

There is an underlying honesty to music made and played by @manueltur . On his own productions it comes through as breathtaking simplicity, a clean and deeply compelling approach to making deep house music. 

By aesthetic this sort of music belongs on @freerangerecords so we shouldn't be too surprised that Manuel Tur would make something of a home for himself (and for his side project Clavis) on Jimpster's acclaimed deep house imprint. His latest - Organic Reach EP - marks his first solo release on the label in five years. 

It also shouldn't surprise us to find his studio habits spilling over into his DJ style. A Manuel Tur set is about music selection over effects - as on his original productions, his style is characterized as "clear and straight-forward without tons of tricks. Both at the studio and the club, an EQ is still the most powerful tool we have."
