Smooth Sinister

Wrote this in between writing a paper for school. All done ITB in Ableton Live making heavy use of plugins by Marvin Pavilion (amongst others): http://marvinpavilion.ojaru.jp/en/sound/vst.html

Vapor Pressure

A live hardware track, done in two takes. A little rough mix-wise but I kinda like the energy that results. 

Gear used: Poly Evolver, MS-20, Microbrute, Volca Beats, Rhythm Wolf, Zoom MS-70CDR, Behringer EM600 Echo Machine, Ibanez AD202. Mixed in Ableton Live.

Backfire Effect

Got a Volca Sample and paired it up with my MS-20 for some dubby mayhem. Recorded in a couple takes into Ableton Live. Guitar processed through a Zoom G3.

One For Summer

An alternate take of my reinterpretation of a semi-popular witch house tune (guess which one!), created as a soundtrack to a short film about the Missoula-based illustrator Theo Ellsworth. This interpretation takes it from a melancholy tune into a sci-fi voyage through a cartoonish alien civilization.

Goodbye To The Brute

A rough live hardware jam I made on a very hot day. 

Demonstrates the more redeeming quality of the much-maligned Akai Rhythm Wolf (bassline and drums), some MS-20, and Microbrute for the lead. Effects were the Ibanez AD-202 and Behringer EM600.

Another song I made for Float On (floathq.com). This one never made it on to a compilation. It heavily features the awesome Ibanez AD202 analog delay which makes for some very trippy guitar sounds. I was again trying to recreate my experience in the sensory deprivation tanks. I'd love to hear feedback if anyone listens to this in a tank.

Contribution to Peace

Something funny happened with the stereo field here and the low end is messed up. I thought the tune was worth sharing anyways. 

This was another live, unedited, all-hardware jam. My brief experience owning a DrumBrute before I sold it and playing around with the multiple outputs. I recall the claps being processed through the MS-20, and I know a Zoom MS-70CDR is doing some other processing. Some Poly Evolver leads and I think the MicroBrute is the bassline. How memory slips away!

An SH-01A was used on all the parts but the percussion.

Soft Betrayal

While doing some patch creation/sound design, I randomly recorded the last few pads I had made and this was the result. Hit record once in awhile!
