After trying a fair few different ideas for this remix, I eventually managed to create a really flexible bass patch using Tone2 Gladiator, and decided to let that drive the whole track, chucking in lots of variation, wobbles, filter tricks, glitches and so on. The bassline follows the chord progression of the original and some of the other remix parts layer into it nicely, with lots of dubby echoes, stutters and sonic progression for good measure. This has been driving people wild in my sets for the last 4 months, and I'm happy to be able to finally share it with you guys, hope it does the same for you! x

This is actually my third collaborative endeavour with Toby, and without a doubt the most successful. Each of the tracks we've made together over the years have been named after the roads we lived on at the time, and this track is no exception.  

We enjoyed making this track immensely, and spent the first few days of the production process playing guitar and getting merry. After two or three days of recording instruments, making sounds and jamming out ideas, I eventually took the project back to my new studio and finished it off a few days later. This track has served me very well as my set opener for some time, and has always set the mood perfectly for whats to come.

This is the A-side to my next EP for Broken Robot Records, and has been my end of set track for some time. I really tried to push my knowledge of sound design to the limits during it's making and in the process learned a whole bunch of techniques that i'd simply be lost without.

Bad Tango - Into The Fray [OUT NOW!]

G'day! I am elated to finally be sharing with you my remix of Hedflux's 2012 track 'Diversion'. This remix has been through ALOT of different permutations over the course of its creation. I knew I wanted to do something slightly out of the norm with the parts, but wasn't sure what until i'd made about 4 different variants of the same track, and eventually glued my favourite parts together.

This is my first ever remix for Steve, it was such a pleasure to remix the man that got me started on this kind of music. He originally asked me to have a crack at 'Mindcell', but I wimped out haha.

This remix will be coming out on Hedflux's very own label, (LUMINUS) as part of the Hedflux Remixed series. There's some seriously cool remixes to come from some of the best producers around, so i'm psyched to be a part of it.

It feels super weird to have remixed this tune, as when I first started getting into this kind of music, this was one of my absolute favourites. I tried not to stray too far from the original groove, as for me that groove is what makes this track. And I know that a fair few people have a similar relationship with this track to that of my own, so I truly hope i've done it justice. Bad Tango is the electronic music project of UK based producer Will Railton.
