SUCIA! and DJ Manny present FML Mixtape Vol 1, a collection highlighting their community of fellow music lovers from all walks of life. Based around their party series of the same name, this compilation features everything from footwork to r&b, techno, rap and even a punk song. Its purpose is to display the wide range of talent within their peers, and showcase the current sounds of dance music from NYC to the rest of the world.



Featured here among the mixtape’s 22 tracks are Teklife representative Mel G (Low Key Recs), Bronx-based dark tunnel techno specialist Total XTC (Body Journey), Rare Frequency Transmissions' co-founder Dynoman, Anito Soul representing Planet Queer nyc's collective, and jazz chord virtuoso Tomu DJ (Girl House). Rather than run with a rigid genre or small circle scene focus, the curation of this compilation was a natural process of selecting friends with similar mindsets. The alt kids who listen to R&B, the ravers that love hip-hop, the punk bands that write songs about sex workers, good music knows no bounds and that is what is presented here.



For Music Lovers is about community, diversity & representation. It’s about worldwide celebration of the black and queer dance music and those that hold respect for its roots.

All funds made from this project will go direct back to the artists involved.

DJ.MC is a producer/DJ from the south side of Chicago. He got into music and dancing through the Chicago Bud Billiken parade as a child and joined the South Shore Drill dance team, marching to Ghetto House.  He started producing after hearing a mixtape by DJ Gant-Man who mentored him bonding with the footwork dance Clique Goon Squad. He appeared on Planet Mu's 'Bang & Works' compilation, released an EP on Hyperdub and did his first Moveltraxx appearance earlier this year in the 'Let Me See Your Footwork 3' project alongside DJ Manny, Jana Rush and DJ Earl. We are thrilled to release his new 5 tracks EP that encompass everything we love about the genre while showcasing MC's unique style and including a collaboration with chitown legend DJ Chip.

"Moving to Dublin from Philadelphia five years ago marked thebeginning of the Julia Louise Knifefist project; a character with its essence in blending experimental forms of noise, gabber and breakcore with dance music elements and a memorable stage presence.

With its transatlantic roots in the DIY culture of both Philadelphia and Dublin, Julia takes inspiration from harsh noise and extreme performances – like that of Death Grips who he counts as an influence – taking the very visceral elements of extreme music and making them more digestible. 

As the co-head of collective Bitten Twice, Julia has provided an important outlet for experimental electronics in Ireland, collaborating regularly with the strong community of artists that are currently blooming in Dublin, such as Rory Sweeney and E The Artist, all of whom perform together regularly. 


Julia’s forthcoming release – Valley – begins with the glitchy jungle and breakcore of ‘Venom’; Julia blends punk and hardcore aesthetics with threatening basslines and breakbeat, pushing the DIY sound of contemporaries such as JPEGMafia and Paris Texas to its absolute limits.

Both ‘Black Magic’ and ‘What Then’ have a strong focus on experimental gabber – moments of nightmarish melody lie between unapologetic, in-your-face kicks that threaten to burst into flames, before the fuck-trance dreamscape of ‘Hands To Heal’ guides the listener over the clouds and into Julia’s own world, mixing cloud-rap influences with the future-facing aesthetics of artists like Yung Lean and Vargt2m to create something instantly distinctive as his own."
