BLANK #3 - "I ONCE EMBRACED THE ABSURD" BY NEKYIA & FOSSADELRUMORE

An honest reflection of emotional duality,
an exorcism of the past self and a return to my corpse.
A hard-to-describe state of memorial,
the feeling of fighting something exhausting to its core,
resulting in shying away in fear
or a sudden need to rage against with adrenaline.
Positive and negative - one cannot exist without the other:
a daily schizophrenic exposure of violent images and noises towards our bodies.
What needs to be said is that this is no state of enlightenment,
much rather a comfortable state of disgust,
a state of a growing hemorrhage upon my love,
so swift and subtle it at points seems celebratory, yet of what?
The anxiety frees itself in the form of nervous laughter,
masked as a more polished state of doom,
my teeth continuously shivering.
It penetrates fear to make it search for extreme forms of temporary satisfaction,
moving from anxious to reckless.
There's a painful energy that exudes from this cramping
and drains what's left of my muscle memory, while everything remains the same.
All within the lack of sensuality - the irony within my physical spasms
functions as my truest form of pleasure in this inertia:
these glands have simply exhausted too much water.

BLANK #4 "A VIAL OF MY SPIT AS A WARM KEEPSAKE" BY ACIDIC MALE

This mix was somewhat of a departure from my typical live mixes in its arrangement/ tonal considerations. Having developed a slight cynicism towards the current direction of dance music, I chose tracks with little to no regard for genre or BPM, focusing more on tone and intensity. While there are a couple of danceable moments, it’s definitely hard to call this a ‘dance mix’, but more so a collection of tracks that explore the deconstruction of genre and my hopes for the direction of electronic music in the future.

BLANK #5 - "AUGURY" BY MUTANT JOE

Based in Rennes (FR), the project aims to explore the fields of industrial music and field recording applied to a techno framework.

This mix is the logical follow-up of two years of you-know-what, I continued to buy a lot of records during this period but without the « physical » aspect of a club sound system, all the pure and harsh techno part of the spectrum has lost its appeal for living room listening and I have focused more on ambient, dub and other unclassifiable things. These are records that we have little opportunity to play during techno events while they are also part of my influences and what I would like to be inspired by in terms of production so it seemed logical to me to be able to also introduce them. So there are quite a few dancing moments, it is more thought of as the soundtrack of a calm evening at home. There are new stuff but also older tracks that I never tire of listening to.
It had also been a while since I wanted to record a podcast where the technical side of the DJ would be put aside because there is something very pleasant about letting the tracks with no audible bpm mix with each other. The selection and the running order of the tracks can be done more instinctively and sometimes « happy accidents » occur quite randomly, the sound of one resonates with the following record and vice versa without this accident can never be reproduced identically.

BLANK #6 - "PERCOLATION"  BY RAWKORDER

"2 Blood Trails, 2 Riffles" is a podcast through which Lieu Noir introduces a selection of
tracks moving us into a post-apocalyptic landscape similar to Richard Stanley's movie
Hardware.
Lieu Noir uses this opportunity to give us exclusively "Absent Gods & Dead Immortals", the
eponymous track from his EP to come in February on his own label PIT (Paso Inferior
Tapes).
This selection also perfectly reflects the complementarity of both John Z. K.'s projects.

The Undertaker's Tapes - Roughless Politics [AARTE]

The mix is called “Baubas” (in Lithuanian), which is a mythic nocturnal creature, that hides in the dark corners of the house and scares children. BLANK #8 - "BAUBAS" BY GENYTEN

Baudelaires poetries remain one of the most influential centrepieces in my book collection and they are maybe my most re-read volume of poems. Like all great poets he was an acute observer and an ingenious translator of feelings. His words paint precise and poignant pictures of the shapeless and inenarrable, like a mood or a sentiment. Sometimes only music can have the same effect on me. However, the fascination and the bloom of „Les Fleurs du Mal“ goes beyond that. Baudelaire's observations, could be considered overall as „negative“, for example as pessimistic - like the unfulfilled human pursuit of integrity -, or as repulsive - like the tristesse of urban hedonism. Induced by the linguistic beauty the emotional experiencing of the seemingly „negative“ or „evil“ - which in some places of the book can be kind of an explicit sense of self - transforms into a bittersweet atmosphere that holds grace and grandeur. Here I see a strong commonality with some music I love and I feel there is a similar approach entire music genres might have pursued: Maybe more than other art forms, music is sometimes met with refusal, confusion and lack of understanding when things become aestheticised, that are distasteful, obnoxious, cruel or - to stay with Baudelaire - „evil“. But behind all this stands a reality, the musician as an acute observer is witness to. Ars longa, vita brevis.

This mix, rather a sound collage, is meant to sonically illustrate the pictures Baudelaire put in my mind; sometimes a direct reflection of the texts, sometimes a associative pairing to the feelings Baudelaire's words elicit. Here is a physical journey through body, a succession of loneliness, as a succession of inner rituals. 
HA KYOON imagined a sort of geographic card where all those different loneliness could meet themselves and have a dialogue. 
These loneliness take forms through darkness or violence, or more rhythmical approach, voices or atmospheric sounds; taken at a turning point, before or after something, with a common point a vital energy to transform death into life.

ELEGY OF OUR DEMISE :
 
The initial idea for this mix was to just contrast light and dark by means of ambient and related genres. But while compiling the tracks I realized that there was a second driving force at work. Over the course of the last few years my already strong contempt for
mankind has grown into proportions I never imagined. Looking back on our most recent historical events and the conclusions not drawn from them, neither on a larger scale nor in our multiple small „underground“ communities, there is not much left apart from giving
in.
This mix is a swansong. Only darkness is left. Light is nothing more than a straw. A trained reflex, shallow and meaningless. This mix is traditional, even reactionary, because progress is a corrupted concept. We are done. Accept and surrender.

BLANK #11 - "ELEGY OF OUR DEMISE" BY DIM LIGHT

Dans Hardambient, seules des loops de morceaux (sauf le premier) de techno, hardtechno, gabber, trance, etc., sont superposées à quatre pistes – ces loops sont prises dans des moments calmes de ces morceaux, parfois avec seulement un kick en début ou en fin, pour former un magma dans lequel l’identité des morceaux est effacée pour former un tout métallique fondu, jusqu’à son implosion qui ouvre sur un futur non encore esquissé. Cela donne un résultat hardambient, oxymore dont l’immanence du sens est exprimée dans le continuum de ce qui semble être un vestibule sans fin.

Inspirée par une source d'eau dans un village qu'elle connaît dans le Nord-Pas-de-Calais, Cardboard Lamb a créé une mixtape librement basée sur la sensation d'explorer le paysage la nuit. Une ancienne maison paroissiale se dresse en face d'une église abandonnée. Une faux est nécessaire pour couper à travers une prolifération d'orties, descendant lentement vers une piscine d'eau cristalline et turquoise. La piscine est glacée et dangereuse. Des éclats de terre tourbillonnent au-dessus de puissants sables mouvants. Il a longtemps été appelé « nombril du diable » dans la région. Si vous entrez, vous périssez. Sainte Marina est une artiste transdisciplinaire d’origine libanaise basée à Paris. A l’invitation du lieu Le Transfo, centre culturel d’Emmaüs Solidarité aménagé dans un centre d’hébergement d’urgence du 10ème arrondissement, elle a composé un set qui ouvre une porte d’entrée personnelle sur l’exposition « C’est un dur métier que l’exil » du photoreporter afghan Abdul Saboor et de l’artiste visuelle turque Nil Yalter.

Les choses brisées nous ouvrent leur coeur, elles nous donnent accès à leur vraie nature. Pareil à des enfants disséquant leur jouet pour révéler la mécanique de leurs entrailles, nous cherchons encore la magie dans les choses inanimées. À l’image du diamant vibrant sur les sillons d’un vinyle sans nom, libérant le génie d’une symphonie industrielle.
The Broken Night est un souhait, écrit au sang de la solitude, sur le journal noir de nos sombres pensées…
Le vœux d’un voyage intérieur dans notre nuit à nous, celle qui se cache derrière nos paupières. 
Un abysse vertigineux où s’est réfugié un étrange bestiaire.
