Starting the last week of January off and continuing the download series here at Conscious Wave is California's own Martin Matthews, aka Knowmad. An active member of the international bass music collective Infra Tribez, dedicated to sharing exclusive tribal, ethnic and cultural influenced bass music, Knowmad generously delivers CW an original deep, meditative composition, comprised of a vast, sacred soundscape, rhythmic organic percussion and a deep, calming sub bass.

Continuing to push the sounds we have grown to admire here at CW, the track Lakota explores a wide, organic soundscape filled with panning percussion sounds, tribal drums and mysteriously chopped vocal clips, all sitting nicely over a calm, yet firm meditative sub bass. Lead by a lone pan flute, the track intelligently builds and releases energy over the course of 6 relaxing minutes.

In an interview clip from 1955, Dr.Ambedkar (Founding Father of India) exposes the hoax called MK Gandhi and his
downright racist and caste-based orthodox Hindu ideology which has kept India down. 

Dr.Ambedkar, and many amongst us, are absolutely sure that gandhi, the supposed father of the nation, was never a mahatma, not even from any moral point of view. He was a disgrace to the nation for  perpetuating inequality and bigotry, besides being a sexual weirdo who slept with his grand-nieces for whatever demented reasons. And India and the world seems to forgive and forget !!!

Mr.gandhi was as corruptible and farcical as the
superficial image of a mahatma that he portrayed. 
Shameful !!

And here is the excerpt i sampled from Dr.Ambedkar's interview...

Dr.Ambedkar - "I always say that as I met Mr. Gandhi in the capacity of an opponent,
I have a feeling that I know him better than most other people because 
he had opened his real 'fangs' to me and I could see the inside of the man, 
you see, while others generally went there as devotees saw nothing of him,
except the external appearance which he had put up as a 'Mahatma'.
 
But I saw him in his human capacity, the bare man in him. 
So I say that I understand him better than most other people
who have associated themselves with him.

-How would you sum-up what you found?

Dr.Ambedkar - "Well, I must say at the outside, that I feel quite surprised at the interests of the outside world, western world particularly, seems to be taking in Mr. Gandhi; I cannot understand that. 
So far as India is concerned he was, in my judgment,
an episode  in the history of India, never any epoch maker. 
Gandhi has already vanished from the memory of the people 
in this country. His memory is kept because 
the congress party annually, you see, gives a holiday 
either on his birthday or some other day connected with 
some event in his life....

Mr.Gandhi was the most orthodox man.  
He has been supporting the caste system, 
the Varnashram dharma,
and all the orthodox dogmas 
which have kept India down, all through ages. 

He was very much afraid that the scheduled caste would
become as independent a body as the sikhs and muslims
were, and that the hindus would be left alone to fight a battle against the combination of these three sects.
That was what was at the back of his mind.
And he did not want the hindus to be left without any allies.

HE WAS NEVER A "MAHATMA" .
I REFUSE TO CALL HIM A MAHATMA.
I HAVE NEVER IN MY LIFE CALLED HIM MAHATAMA.
HE DOES NOT DESERVE THAT TITLE.
NOT EVEN FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF HIS MORALITY.

Yes, he was absolutely an orthodox hindu.
He was never a reformer, you see.
And he has NO DYNAMICS in him.

All this talk about untouchability was just for the purpose of making the untouchables drawn into the congress; 
that was one thing! 
And secondly, he wanted that the untouchables should not oppose his movement of 'Swaraj'. 
I don’t think beyond that he had any real motive of uplift ! 

See, there are two things about the schedule caste. 
We want untouchability to be abolished.
But we also want that we must be given equal opportunity
so that we may rise to the level of the other classes.
Mere washing off of untouchability is of no consequence.
We have been carrying on with untouchability for the last two thousand years!
Nobody has bothered about it.

Yes, there are some disabilities which are very harmful.
For instance, people can't take water, 
people can't own land to cultivate and earn their livelihood.
But the other things which are far more important, namely,
that they should have the same status in the country
and they should have the opportunity to hold high offices
so that not only their dignity will rise, but they will
also get, what i call, strategic positions, from which
they could protect their own people.

MR.GANDHI WAS TOTALLY OPPOSED !
Totally opposed.

"Temple entry" - that was all that gandhi wanted to do.
Nobody cares for hindu temples anymore.
The untouchables have become so conscious of the fact
that temple-going is of no consequence at all.
You lived in the untouchable quarters, just the same !
Whether you went into the temple or did not go into the temple. 

People, for instance, did not allow the untouchables to travel by railways because of pollution. 
But now they don't mind.
Because the railways would not make any separate arrangements.
But because they travel together by train, it does not follow
that their lives in the villages, vis-a-vis the Hindus, 
has in any sense changed.
Whenever the Hindu and the Untouchable alight at a railway station, they assume their old roles."
 
-So you would say that gandhi was an orthodox hindu..

Dr.Ambedkar - "Yes, he was absolutely an orthodox hindu.
He was never a reformer.
And he has no dynamics in him.."

No Mahatma In Gandhi (feat. Dr.B.R Ambedkar)

Spontaneous Composition 1am 25/12/2015. This work was created inside a trance; in Deep Play- a reverie at the possibilities of the Federation Handbells, 24  individual bells as two octaves of the chromatic scale and a new tool for community through music I had received from Museums Victoria several days prior... earlier that evening I had glimpsed their potential to engage non-identifying musicians in my neighbourhood at an informal gathering that happened spontaneously at my place that Christmas Eve. The guests cleared out, the clock struck 1 and I was left with the Bells and some new and ecstatic suspicions about the pagan origins of the dawning Holiday.  During the process captured here my understanding of what I was engaged in shifted from 'improvisation' to 'spontaneous composition'; I still don't quite know what this means but I feel the distinction to be more than semantic.
