In this special episode in honor of the 100th Anniversary of the passing of Abdu'l-Baha, I'm joined by my good friend Shahin Sobhani, who among many other things, was the creator of 239days.com, a site dedicated to the time Abdu'l-Baha spent in North America. Shahin tells us about his childhood and his Baha'i ancestors, and shares stories about Abdu'l-Baha, whom Baha'u'llah called "The Mystery of God". I'm sure you'll enjoy this conversation as much I did!

Mr. Hartmut and Mrs. Ursula Grossmann were the keynote speakers at the North Island Baha'i Summer School in New Zealand at the end of December 2013, and the National Spiritual Assembly of the Baha'is of New Zealand has given Baha'i Blog four of Mr. Grossmann’s audio talks for you to listen to.

Mr. Grossmann was a former member of both the International Teaching Centre and the Universal House of Justice, until he retired in 2008. He passed away in 2017. A tribute to Mr. Grossmann can be read here on the Baha'i World News Service: news.bahai.org/story/1228/

We’ve been asked to remind everyone that Mr. Grossmann gave these talks as an individual Baha'i, and not as a representative of the Universal House of Justice.

Living the Life - Mr Grossmann

In this series of eight talks, historian Douglas Martin discusses the evolution of religion in the context of our capacity to respond to the requirements of the Divine Plan.

Douglas Martin was born in 1927 in Ontario, Canada. He held a Bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Western Ontario and a Master's degree in history from the University of Waterloo, Ontario.

He was a member of the National Spiritual Assembly of the Baha'is of Canada from 1960-85, serving as its general secretary from 1965-85. From 1985-93 he was director-general of the Baha'i International Community's Office of Public Information at the Baha'i World Centre in Haifa.

Mr. Douglas Martin was also a former member of the Universal House of Justice, the governing body of the Baha'i International Community (for more information, please visit: https://universalhouseofjustice.bahai.org/).

Mr. Martin passed away on 28 September 2020 in Toronto, Canada. You can read a tribute to him by the Universal House of Justice on the Baha'i World News Service: https://news.bahai.org/story/1455/
