Choosing from Clothes is a song that deals with the theme of the shattering of the ego, ineptitude, ever more rampant bewilderment in a time where it becomes natural to replace oneself with all sorts of substitutes for oneself, especially in a virtual environment: the dynamics of social media they reveal it. A passage that highlights the different stratifications of which the human being is forged to face a society in which the dominant cultural models suggest more to appear and less to be.

Although it may not seem true, this piece of music was written before what we know was the last pandemic; it is a song that in its own way is projected, emotionally, through a meta-sound language (language often applied within the entire album), in the story of the ignoble race for profit by the pharmaceutical industry.

The Cure That Does Not Cure

Against the background of an almost "sunny" ballad, with not surprisingly African reminiscences, we pause on the ineluctable exclamation of "do not expect anything different"; that touch of pessimism that changes into the need to try not to evade - immediately and without too many frills - a reality in its total crudeness. The synthesis that is contemplated in my work is translated, for example, into passages like this one.

A piece with a strong need to bring up at least two themes: the ecological question, steeped in its dramas: the risks associated with the damage that humanity causes to a system of which it is a part; and the question of an increasingly widespread absence of a personal critical sense: hence the allusion to which the figure of the influencer is the background.

I gladly hand over this soundscape, to the idea that it can also be used as a soundtrack. Like the others on the album, it addresses a theme and maybe even more than one. “Sand, Foam and the Tramp” is also a quotation from those readings with a spiritual background, which I did especially as a boy, and in this case the poet / philosopher in question is the Lebanese Khalil Gibran. The piece collects a series of moods - I think quite evident in its evolution -, which want to paint a journey on the open sea: the protagonist is the people who emigrate.

The literary inspiration was born following the reading of "Herzog" by Saul Bellow (1964). I leave you all the opportunity to interpret.

"The Absence of Words / Music for a Ballet" it unfolds through two macrostructures - hence the origin of the title; there is even a quote to David Lynch, a sort of sonorous cameo, which comes to the rescue of the physiognomy, broadly dreamlike and crepuscular, of the piece.

The Loss of Faith is a song that refers to the theme of wars that still sees us (we humans) protagonists of brutal and inadmissible events. It is the loss of faith towards a humanity that is slow to learn the lesson: a humanity that is anchored in the craving for an illusory power, in an era in which the ideal of community is becoming less and less important.
