This Garacast was recorded in September 2017 exclusive for Garasadah and reflects a certain mood. It´s a journey from Marrakesh to Kathmandu. From the desert to the mountains. You can nearly feel the passion for the secret spirit of the wilderness. It feels like travel bug.

Wow, this was one for the books… 
I am speechless, and not just because I've lost my voice again :D I’m pretty dead but so grateful for what happened last Sunday, Monday, Tuesday at Kater...
This is definitely my winter highlight every year and you all made it so special.

An avatar (Sanskrit: अवतार, IAST: avatāra), a concept in Hinduism that means "descent", is the material appearance or incarnation of a deity on earth. The relative verb to "alight, to make one's appearance" is sometimes used to refer to any guru or revered human being. The word avatar does not appear in the Vedic literature, but appears in verb forms in post-Vedic literature, and as a noun particularly in the Puranic literature after the 6th century CE. Despite that, the concept of an avatar is compatible with the content of the Vedic literature like the Upanishads as it is symbolic imagery of the Saguna Brahman concept in the philosophy of Hinduism.

In our culture, music is in every moment and place of our day. In fact music is rarely just a sound organization over a limited period of time, and is almost always an art form of expression; that's the core which structures MONVOL's sweet-sounding productions. Hailing from Latvia, in the Baltic region of Northern Europe, MONVOL is the duo of Nastya Volkova, Russian DJ and producer and Anton Monk, well-known Latvian electronic music producer, both live performance artists.
Peculiarly, they have been crafting unique sounds and delivering captivating live performances as a combination of deep synthetic sonority, having a touch of live recorded instruments and seasoned all along with meaningful vocal paths. And, furthermore, playing with build-up and release, twisting the cult sounds of 70-80th within present-day electronic grooves. That's why we can't put them in a box, surely, their fearless perspective is that creativity should be free and that's why they mix different genres.

The rāga saga is a series that acts as a cultural collectiva of our favourite artists from all over, each raga is an array of melodic structures with musical motifs, considered in the Indian tradition to have the ability to "colour the mind" and affect the emotions of the audience and this journey (raga) and this rāga comes from this fresh talent @zali_na from Russia, she sent us a Kosa tribute & we can’t help but release this beautiful set, full of love and hard work and present it to you.

∞ Anicca // Mixes From The North Vol. 1 ∞

The Pali word "Anicca" means impermanence and it is one the three “marks” or basic characteristics of all phenomenal existence in Buddhism. It indicates that everything that is, is in constant change and nothing is permanent. Suffering in life arises when we cling in to something thinking it's for forever, denying the impermanent nature of all things.

Facing the impermanence in ourselves enables us to realise that we have no control over this phenomena of constant change and that any attempt to manipulate it creates suffering. With this insight we learn to develop detachment, an acceptance of Anicca, an openness to change, enabling us to live happily even if things don't always end up going the way we thought they would.

As one can hear, this mixtape is all about change and new beginnings, hardships of letting go and rediscovering something that got lost along the way. This piece of work is quite personal and definitely tells my story. Even though it's a bit melancholic at times, it's still full of hope and life. Just like me.

With these words of Dhamma, I wish you all the best, my brothers and sisters <3 :

"All things are impermanent,
when one observes this with insight,
then one becomes detached from suffering;
this is the path of purification."
