Our No. 222 today comes from an artist who has been accompanying me musically more or less continuously for about 2 years. To overhear him is basically pretty really hard. Not only because of his high output and commitment, but especially because of the high quality that can be found in all his mixes. So is the case with ours.

We are talking about kośa who also runs the well-known label Kosa which preferably stands for experimental downtempo that can be classified somewhere between world music and slow deep house. As a solo artist Tarun is very successful on the road. Among other things, he has played at the well-known Berlin club Kater Blau several times.

His recorded mix begins like an ode to the Bronx of the 80s when hip hop played with oriental music elements. As the tape progresses, it becomes deeper and more driving, without losing its slow character. In the process, he reveals a wide range of subgenres...Towards the end, Tarun returns to the starting point, skillfully closing the circle. In his set, he provides equal amounts of release and tension. A perfect formula for an easy-going, danceable afterhour. Fasten your seatbelts...

Unsere Nr. 222 kommt heute von einem Künstler, der mich seit ungefähr 2 Jahren mehr oder weniger ununterbrochen musikalisch begleitet. Ihn zu überhören ist im Grund ziemlich wirklich schwer. Nicht nur auf Grund seines hohen Outputs und Engagement, sondern vor allem wegen der hohen Qualität, die sich in all seinen Mixen wiederfindet. So auch bei unserem. 

Die Rede ist von kośa der zudem das bekannte Label Kosa betreibt welches vorzugsweise für experimentellen Downtempo steht, der sich irgendwo zwischen Worldmusic und slowen Deep House einordnen lässt. Als Solokünstler ist Tarun überaus erfolgreich unterwegs. So bespielete er unter anderem den bekannten Berliner Club Kater Blau bereits mehrere Male.

Sein eingespielter Mix beginnt wie eine Ode an die Bronx der 80er als der Hip Hop mit orientalischen Musikelementen spielte. Im weiteren Verlauf wird das Tape immer deeper und treibender, ohne seinen slowen Charakter zur verlieren. Dabei offenbart er eine große Bandbreite von Untergenren…Gegen Ende kehrt Tarun wieder zum  Ausgangspunkt zurück und schließt somit gekonnt den Kreis. kośa is a soundsmith, the alter ego of Tarun Jakhodia; a designer, DJ and head of bringing to the table aromas and extracts of comtemporary mixing — downtempo, acid house and minimal deep-tech ranging from 80 to 120 bpm, electronic yet organic tunes, deep hypnotic meditative grooves and solid kicks infused with Indian, Arabic and other ethnic influences which they beautifully term 'spiritual deeptech' a genre coined by kośa, rooted in the deepest part of India's underground scene located in Pune near the bustlin city of Bombay.

Recorded live on a nice breezy Sunday in his apartment's balcony, the 102-min mixtape crafted by kośa as our 224th edition took inspiration in some of their upcoming secret weapons releases, several projects and EPs on the way. So you betta taste the freshness of it!

The rāga saga is a series that acts as a cultural collectiva of our favourite artists from all over, Each raga is an array of melodic structures with musical motifs, considered in the Indian tradition to have the ability to "colour the mind" and affect the emotions of the audience and this special journey (raga) comes from the lovely duo of @pullichomba Electronic music Producers based between Santiago de Chile and Berlin. When Pulli & Chomba met barefoot on the most famous beach of Berlin's Club scene in 2017, it was immediately clear, that their love for electronic music unites them. The fusion of German and Chilean sounds brought them on the tingling path to their own productions. Mostly organic and from time to time also a bit more intense and darker, they put your hearts to dance - preferably under a soap bubble rain.

About this journey:
The story of Mono&Kusten (aka Ex-Mono & Pay Kusten) started with two cancelled gigs in the beginning of 2020. Two years and several gigs later the combined sound of both merged into an unforeseeable style with Organic House and Techno in the centre and different other styles that suddenly can occur during their sets. 
 
For the Cosmovision Podcast the two guys from Hamburg in Germany selected a mixture of energising and calming organic tracks that represent their idea of music. The title of the podcast is a homage to their home which serves as a never ending source of tranquility in times of hectic rush.

You want to listen to more than to the loveless arrangement of the latest Beatport charts, you don't just want to party to four-to-the-floor hits by default, but you want to experience and feel the music and the sound in your synapses and deep under your skin?
