This release has a long history. I’ve heard “Into the night” in the series Twin Peaks for the first time. It was the early nineties. Since I fell in love with the music of Angelo Badalamenti and with everything that the great David Lynch does. I had the idea to remix this track a long time ago. However, it was possible to record a cover version only in 2017, together with the singer Tatyana Shchelokova and my friend and teacher Max Sozonov (RIP).

Last year I had an idea to make a new sound for this cover and release it on my label downtempo, baby! My friends Reyneke (DE), Alex Doering (ES) and SEVN(CA) joined me. Thanks guys, this wouldn't have happened without you! 
On June 9 of this year died Julee Cruz. She was the singer, who first performed & Into the night in 1990 for Twin Peaks.

We dedicate this release to her. RIP Julle!

Sometimes we forget to count and have to remember ourselves how many compilations we have released in the last 3 years. We can't believe it, but we're super proud to be able to present down.tape 7 to you. Yes, you read that right, number 7.

As always, we invited our current favorite artists to be there. Of course, this does not include those who have already been part of an earlier compilation. It's really nice to see how fast the scene is growing and new interesting musicians are entering the stage. Without them it would not be possible to create such beautiful and varied releases.

This time we're going into a diverse direction, hoping the dancefloors will glow. You can expect 17 tracks, all of which were produced with a lot of passion and heart. We have a feeling this could be our favorite down.tape to date. A big thank you goes out to the various artists, our artwork master Kilian Van De Water and to Haunted Water for the great mastering. We hope you enjoy this as much as we do!

Ruben Coslada fascinates us with his new EP "Archipel" by composing the change of tides into a groovy, creaky overall package. We trace the sandy east wind of the Canary Islands in "Calima". The view is slightly cloudy, the light reddishly refracted and the dry air sweeps over the archipelago waters.

As if in a lucid extasy, Dani Posada's remix weaves another layer of crisp desert sounds into his interpretation, while @matijaweiss takes us deeper into a meandering dreamland with a decelerated remix.
Just as the logic of the archipelago refers to the diversity of the various islands, the spaces animated by the sea are symbolized in this EP in the second track "Taoro" and celebrated in a constant flow of pleasurable slowing.

According to Gilles Deleuze, who also noted regarding the archipelago, "The world is [...] made of fluid relationships, of islands and the in-between, of moving points and sinuous lines."

Sydney Sëymour - Spanish Mermad (Deep Ändi Remix) [trndmsk]

We are particularly looking forward to our next release, as it also represents something of a personal turning point in terms of sound. 

Our Swiss buddy Planet Caravan contributes two very stable  original tracks, which Pulli & Chomba and Atric have made their own in a splendid way, in order to give the tracks, which are already very suitable for the dance floor, their own touches.

The title track of the EP called "Circuit Bending" is characterized by a dreamy and bouncy sound that fits perfectly into our loot scheme of the last years.

The second title of the EP "A Glitch" convinces with snotty vocals and a dark groove, which you will hear more often on our label in the future.

As always, we would like to thank all artists involved for the great cooperation and refer to the first-class mastering of Haunted Water, as well as the brilliant artwork by Kilian Van de Water.
