Bailenga was born in 2020 out of the desire to take everywhere the Italian folk music and dance community dimension, with wild and ritual dances like pizzica and tarantella, and folk songs from Neapolitan café-chantants and Milanese taverns.
A journey all over Italian traditions guided by traditional music warmth and magic from Sicily to Occitan valleys, with a danceable and listening repertoire.

The term Bailenga comes from the union of the Spanish word baile
(dance) with balenga, a North Italian dialect term 
meaning “crazy, strange”. We like it because we believe that music and dance stimulate the expression of the most "crazy" sides of everyone, with which we can manifest freedom and creativity.

BIO
Elisa Guarraggi
Singer, musician, actress, teacher.
Graduated in "Arts and social theater (for conductors)", 1st level Master at the European University of Rome and graduated as a professional actress at the Accademia del Teatro Stabile in Naples. She sings in folk music projects (Spanteca, Naples; Pasticcio Meticcio, Genoa) for many years and she uses her voice as a cathartic means of transformation, both individual and collective.


Pietro Ariotti
Multi-instrumentalist, folk-researcher, teacher.
Graduated with full marks in Jazz Music at the Alexandria Conservatory and graduated in Arts and Entertainment (formerly DAMS) at the University of Genoa, he loves to express himself as a musician and improviser where music joins theater, dance and popular festivals.
