Astral Records continues a strong start to the year by welcoming Vicius (BR) to the label for his debut EP. Hailing from Brazil, Vicius (BR) first emerged in 2020, producing a mesmerizing and emotional brand of melodic house and techno. A debut on Prisma Music's Evolution III collection would set the course for an impressive stretch of releases via Melodic Room, Steyoyoke Black and his own Odissea Records imprint. Support from some of the scene's key figures such as Ae:ther, Binaryh, D-Nox and Hêik would follow, making the São Paulo resident a bright talent to watch going forward. With 2023 wrapping up with the release of his ‘Fever Dream' single, Vinius (BR) now adds Astral Records to his resume, opening the year with a three-track showcase entitled ‘Ritual'.

Landing in impressive fashion, title track 'Ritual' creates a smooth yet electric energy from the outset. Punchy kick drums and a hyperactive groove unite for a powerful low end, while gated vocals and uplifting chord stabs add nicely to its prophetic nature. The narrative evolves as the main break takes shape, with the vocal gates melting down into a gorgeous melodic theme and hopeful pads, perfectly setting the stage for a tasteful build and ethereal finale.

Sitting as one of Vicius' most emotional tracks to date is selection two ‘When I Leave'. Deep and spacious, its dynamic groove commands attention, moving through chunky contours and rhythmic pulses, while heavenly vocals and flickering percussion add further colour leading into the main break. Undeniably poignant, the interlude allows the vocal to breathe, sitting against a backdrop of heartfelt themes, before ultimately ushering in an end of night final act.

The release concludes with ‘First Light' which is an apt barometer of where Vicius' headspace is at. Once again providing a strong dancefloor presence, the Brazilian layers wavy arps and dark electronics over a warm pulsating groove and precise percussive arrangements. Bringing a greater emotional mood is the main break, highlighted by warm bass swells and haunting harmonics, before sinister stabs spark a cosmic finale to round out the EP in style.

Some say "third time is the charm" and other's 3 times over is a "Tri-fecta"...whatever it is to you, we are extremely proud to debut the third installment in Nueva's most prestigious compilation series: From The Record Bag!  From Miami w/ Stan Kolev to London hosted by the progressive genius Ad Brown we now take FTRB to Buenos Aires, mixed and compiled by Nueva rising progressive and tech-house star Electrobios!

Opening up the popular compilation is the gorgeous reprise "Mahatma" from Audioprone featuring a neat vocal from the unmistakeable Mahatma Ghandi.

Following up to get the mix in the groove and cement this FTRB as a truly unique deep and techy latin flavour is Polish duo Deas & Lubica and their track "Asanti" utilizing some live sounds from nature to great effect.

One of our favourite tracks of the mix and exclusive to Nueva in a forthcoming EP later on is the venerable Gutterstylz together with Rolasoul and the explosive yet ultra smooth "Love On The Dancefloor".  Just a great slice of Prog-Tech!

Another gem waiting to be discovered was The Dot's old school sounding progressive "You".  This is a track that manages to take you on a journey that very few can and brings us back to the late 90's and early 2000's when music meant something.

Changing the vibe yet again Electrobios teams up with Snowball Project and manages to create a peak time prog-tech infused floor mover.  

This next track picked by Electrobios is by one of the most talented producers we've come across this year in Adam Antine.  Senior Soul is one slick prog-tech track that has that deep punch combined with epic break down that has us putting our hands in the air.

Standout track after standout track Electrobios nails this selection with choosing the always dependable and quality minded Stan Kolev and his track "I Am".  A simple vocal and ultra smooth signature bass line grace this track from start to finish.  It's neat to get a track that can easily fit in the early on set to get the crowd moving or late at 3 am to keep the floor moving, that's our two cents! 

Just after the mid way point Electrobios unleashes yet another exclusive first look at his upcoming EP with Nueva Tech and his magnificent prog-tech track: Jump Here.  This is what Nueva is all about and where we think House got it's groove back.  Electrobios utilizes all the production tricks here and produces a floor smashing monster of a tune.  The feeling of Buenos Aires is so apparent in this track that you might even think you are there on a hot night at the club if you close your eyes.

Being that FTRB always debuts new material, this is a departure from the norm from us as Electrobios insisted on showcasing one of his favourite Nueva Prog releases, specifically the venerable Cid Inc and his amazing remix of Ad Brown's "L.A."...Great choice and evidently good enough to be featured again!

Closing off one of the best FTRB's we've had the pleasure of being involved with, Electrobios makes no mistake by selecting this beauty of a track from new comer to Nueva: Christian Malloni.  The soul and ingenuity shine through on this beautiful track, something we continually search for here at Nueva and strive to bring to our fans.
