First ever release on the brand new label Serenity Now kick things off presenting the first ever EP by p1LL!

Even though this is the first EP as a solo artist, p1LL is very far from a newcomer.
In the mid 90s p1LL kept himself busy dj:ing and producing a lot of electronic music from his bedroom studio out of Santa Monica, where he even produced two tracks for an unreleased album by Seal. Most of this music stayed on hard drives and never came out.

Today, Serenity Now presents “The Other Side EP”, which consist of four songs produced between 1996-98. 
Versatile and quirky, yet straight forward club music that really do have a stand out sound, while at the same time a sound so contemporary that it’s hard to think they were actually made almost thirty(!) years ago.

The record really kicks off and sets the tone right with the deep and bouncy “Touch My Soul”,  where spacey keys and pads moves around in a pumping, futuristic soundscape. Moving on further we head over to “Think Things Over” for some straight forward, loopy and tech-y vibes that really makes it go off.
On the flip we start off with the track “Deep Inside My Mind”. - A full on, tripped out deep house excursion into soundscapes filled with whispering voices, bubbly bass-lines, punchy snares and intricate melodies that keep the driving energy intact.
Finally, we have “Break Free” as the perfect “end of the night”-track filled with euphoric energy. Heavy drums are accompanied by warm stabs and catchy breakdowns where some “good sleaze” piano solos.
All in all, what we have here is the perfect blend of tracks for all sorts of moments of the night. A very special record that really do stand out and will probably sound as good in thirty more years ahead.

Adam Pits is back with his second album on Leeds based On Rotation ‘Synthetic Serenity’ represents the next evolutionary step of Adam’s sound design and direction. In stark contrast to his first album, ‘A Recurring Nature’, this new release moves out of the forest and into the digital landscape, capturing the sound of a future world over 8 varied tracks. 

Adam Pits talks about the inspiration behind the new album:

“It’s hard to put into words how much of an impact 2022 had on my life. I could talk for hours about the highs and lows, the journeys, both inside and out of my body. Or I could just make an album. 

Having delved into the deeper reaches of techno and ambient, I wanted to show my appreciation for these genres on the record. Atmosphere, clarity and warmth became the pillars of my new sonic exploration, with stress falling on my signature ‘journeying’ style. The album describes the idea of being at peace with machines and being open to the idea that in the future we will find ourselves more and more involved with one another. 

‘Synthetic Serenity’ is a product of a big energy release. It’s a testament to my acceptance of change in life and I believe it’s a true sign of my sonic evolution”

Adam Pits - Synthetic Serenity [ONRO04] - CLIPS

"According to Barbarian legend, the world was created when a pine cone fell from the World Tree. All life sprung from its fruit, and still does."

For his next sonic sacrament, schuttle travels gallantly forward, unearthing the seeds sowed by the Ancients, to plant them anew in the shadow of the Mystic Mountains. The quest begins with ‘Shadout’. Fractured celestial voices materialise from a mist of frosted
percussion, a merciful kick drum splutters above the surface, bringing with it the viscous swamp murk from whence it came. Thereafter begins a holy union of shimmering light and cave dwelling darkness. 
Onward then, to ‘Souvlaki’. Playful impish chatter stumbles
over the moss covered bass line, whilst cascading snare hits tumble down abandoned wells; a gentle guiding presence through the forest

Thus the traveler emerges from the undergrowth, bleary eyes are rubbed clear to reveal that most rare of sights, the ritual of the ‘Swords Dance’. The Drum of Victory reverberates menacingly around the standing stones, entrancing a hoard of wayfaring Goblins - heavily intoxicated on honey mead and fungus. As the sacred bones are
ground, the Dance begins. The orkish revellers are joined presently by a local mage who unveils his mouth harp and enters the fray wholeheartedly. Then at long last the Sword is unsheathed in all its cosmic glory, conventional momentum is henceforth abandoned in favour of complete ecstatic, unbridled chaos.

After the dust settles on this fiendish bacchanalia, ‘Junkman’ creeps into the fore. Caustic mire oozes into focus, mist rising sluggishly from the reeds. An elemental pad sweeps across the terrain, cleansing our traveler, and warming their weary bones.

Lapse Records is pleased to welcome its first solo artist EP “LAPSE003” from UK club music innovator and Trouble Maker Records founder, Adam Curtain. He brings his now signature low end sound and genre blending style, marking the first step in broadening Lapse's sound within its current musical sphere. This output is presented with a moodier artwork reflecting the focus on darker sounds.

LAPSE003 features four bass heavy club tracks including summer dance floor anthem to be, “Noticed”, and a melodic percussive roller "Salt Water Trout" on the A. The disorientating and trippy "UFO" opens the flipside, with the understated "Crickets In My 2600" closing out the record with more sound system sonics.
