Antagonist

Hailing from Manchester this shaman has had a keen interest in music since being a teenager. Having started out Djing through pirate radio at the back end of the cassette tape era in late 2004 and progressing into the club circuit around 2009. Antagonist has been building a journey for years, experimenting with various genres of music until finally setting the concrete down with the darker and cinematic side of drum&bass & electronic music. 

With a growing number of releases on R&S RECORDS, Samurai Music, and his own imprint Discipline plus a selection of other known labels, Antagonist continues his own vision of D&B and broken beats. Keeping the textures otherworldly and ethereal with an emphasis on atmospherics and grooves.

If Pacman had affected mike as a kid he’d be running Around in dark rooms, munching pills and listening to repetitive music...In the 90’s Mike Wall made his first experiences with electronic music. In these years, he started mixing tapes and playing his first gigs in Mecklenburg. But he released under the name Mike Wall for the first time on the record label Modulat in 2005, and since then things started looking up for him. In the same year, he played at the legendary Melt Festival and refurnished his studio. These changes brought a fresh wind in his EP’s like “Loose Changes” or “She Comes” and let his productions seem much more smooth and warm. He is known over the border of Germany for the variety in his sets, because even listeners in Italy, Spain, Greece, Austria and Switzerland were very enthusiastic about his dynamic sounds.In 2006, his début vinyl was released on the London minimal label named Safari Electronique, which is home to very talented producers such as Italoboyz, Delete and Arnaud le Textier, just to name a few.Since then, a lot happened and he released on labels like smallroom music, Hidden Recordings, Sleaze and his own label Wall Music. With the foundation of Wall Music/Wall Music Limited, he took a further step into independence and he began to push unknown artists and labels with the credo of having the best fun out of it.

 Over the years she has dropped her distinctive selection at countless events across the UK & played internationally for over a decade; touring North America, Australia, playing in the Middle East & representing regularly in Europe.

I started DJ'ing in 1997. For the first few years I cared for nothing but Drum'n'Bass, however as my tastes broadened I wanting to do something different from my peers. I started playing all the good music I was finding - from any genre. My love for film soundtracks and samples grew at the same time. Fusing it together proved a hit - many gigs, radio shows & parties later I decided to solidify these eclectic sets. I hope you enjoy them. Im still learning new techniques and finding new music to share.
