My first proper music video, (Link to Video : http://youtu.be/QPT3uup_pOU), I have had the amazing opportunity to work with the Nightingale of California, Meera Manohar in a re-arragment of the song by Ouseppachan, Andhi Maalai.


The tune of the song is heavily derived from the famous kriti of Saint Thyagaraja, 'Endaro Mahanubhavulu'. Meera and I both love this Thyagaraja swamy krithi and so decided that as our first project, we will do a re-arrangement of the Andhi Maalai song. :-D

The original album was released under A R Rahman's name although he had played only as a keyboardist*. The vocals were by S Janaki in the original version with lyrics by Vairamuthu

Omanathinkal kidavo was composed for Swathi Thirunal by Irayamman Thampi and madhava mamava was composed by Narayana Theerthar. This is also my humble tribute to these amazing musicians.
