Description: Berkeley continues to explore the funky side of Eastern Europe in the first of two parts on Poland, full of infectious grooves and smooth jazz from the late 70s all the way to the early 90s.

With Eastern Electrics coming this weekend our new podcast comes from the quick rising star Kyle Hall! You will be able to catch the man this Sunday at Eastern Electrics on the secretsundaze ‘Outdoor Switchyard Stage’.

Being born during the second wave of techno from Detroit he studied under some of the greats of his hometown, such as Theo Parrish, Omar-S, Carl Craig, Rick Wilhite and Mike Huckaby. Kyle started producing as everyone does on basic software and found equipment, but not as others he started experimenting at the age of 11! By 2009 Kyle’s name really grew and was banded around internationally by a number of magazines and web pages, due to his ‘Plastik Ambash’ (released on FXHE in 2007), and the radio mix Omar-S created for fabric (which was comprised solely of Kyle’s productions), as well as the distinctive records that started surfacing on his own imprint, Wild Oats, including ‘Worx of Art’, ‘The Perfekt Sin’ and ‘The Dirty Thouz’. Kyle has since landed releases on a number of labels which include Warp Records, Hyperdub, Moods & Grooves, Third Ear, and Objectivity. He has also been hailed by the likes of The New York Times, Spin, Pitchfork, DJ Magazine, Clash and The Fader. His label Wild Oats also continues to grow, "I want the label to represent the shit from Detroit, the feeling that I get when I’m here. A non-corrupted, and not a scene-oriented, feeling of creating music. That feeling of just doing the music that you love without all the frills. Wild Oats is about what works for Kyle Hall, the music that I think is good, filtered through me. It’s my life". This is someone whose talents seem to know no bounds so be sure to catch him at Eastern Electrics this weekend…

I always wanted to release a mix of original trax & having Monix’s hand as the final touch just feels rite.
