In celebration of our guest's birthday and the 50th offering from our fledgling nest at the Abstract without Abstraction HQ in Denver, Colorado, we are incredibly honored to present a special offering from an irreplaceable presence in the city's scene, Routing Number. 

Routing Number is a gifted DJ and keen selector who we first encountered in the realms of Denver's house & disco parties, but who we quickly learned is unable to be pigeon-holed; effortlessly traversing the sounds of the spectrum and seen beaming with an infectious enthusiasm on the dance floor as often as they are found behind the decks. Here, they pay homage to their metalhead roots, exploring the intersections between ambient, noise, heavy metal, and dance music in a mix delivered in a style that epitomizes what this series was originally intended to be all about.

As moods reflect, morph, and mirror the weather (here the depths of winter), we hope that you stay warm, look out for one another, turn the volume up, and enjoy pouring over this chapter in our guest's sound. For us, we hope it is just one of the opening chapters, with many more to come. Welcome to a new show curated by Operator that highlights items we find interesting throughout our beloved Rotterdam. Events in the city will guide us through this new actuality program about music, culture, and nightlife.

This edition we will talk with Caterine Baeten from the International Film Festival Rotterdam, we had a quick chat with Ruta Genyte and Mark van Gogh, the creative team from Poing. We get an update from Wouter Marselje and Nicky Rijks from the upcoming venue Time is the new space. The Clone Records monthly staff picks straight from the store at the Raampoortstraat. Jon K was a hidden treasure in the Manchester scene for many years. A DJ with a fine reputation amongst those who had seen him play, he has rightfully risen to prominence in the last couple of years off some key sets and mixes, including his notorious FACT mix of the year 2013. Part of his well informed record collection no doubt comes from the fact he has long been involved with the Fat City record store, and he has also had a residency at Hoya: Hoya alongside the likes of Illum Sphere and Lone. 

He is someone who always impress no matter what he is playing, and that can be anything from doom to spaced out echo-disco, hip hop to raw Chicago drum tracks. With a widescreen taste and plenty of skills to showcase it in coherent ways, he is real master of his art which is shown in his newest podcast. Jon K: “The starting point for the mix, which clocked in a lot longer than I'd planned, was a few records I picked up last time I was in Amsterdam. Next to that there's a load of forthcoming bits on there as well as a few records I've not played for donkeys years. That's actually one of the things I love about doing mixes - they make you go back through your collection & appreciate stuff in a different way.”
