As someone who has had the unique experience of growing up in 21st Century NYC listening to jungle/DnB, I wanted to showcase all the tunes that made me fall in love with the genre and directly inspired me over the years. My dad never fully got into DJing himself, so this will be the first time his collection will be properly used. My Dad’s collection consists of around 600 CDs of various genres rooted in black expression, and his jungle/D&B collection has a multitude of compilations, DJ mixes and albums spanning from 1994 to 2001.

TRAP MUSIC➤
Trap music is a subgenre that originated during the 1990s from Southern hip hop in the Southern United States. It is typified by its ominous lyrics and sound that incorporate double or triple-time sub-divided hi-hats, heavy kick drums from a Roland TR-808, layered synthesizers, and "cinematic" strings. The term "trap" initially referred to places where drug deals take place. In recent years it has been incorporated with electronic dance music (EDM) by artists who have remixed and made trap songs with more EDM-like aspects.
