Discos Baratos is an effort to shed local light on obscurities hidden in plain sight, showing records' worth beyond value and their place in one’s own phonographic culture so they can be globally appreciated in a more nuanced manner. "Baratos" in Portuguese can be as much a low price as it is a pleasure; a feeling of enjoyment, therefore an adjective that may well describe our musical research.Its creators, Gui Scott and Pino Henrique Pedra, have been well reputed as co-founders in illustrious party collectives that have music at the core of their identities and made the joy of many dancer between the “ponte aérea”: Gop Tun in São Paulo and DOMply in Rio de Janeiro respectively, and each of them imbued with the type of complementary sensibility that can turn these peculiar narratives on their own into something enthralling as a whole. In this mix you will listen to some Brazilian obscure sounds, Pop Maresia and deviant pop.Enjoy!
