Josh’s mix takes us on a moody meandering through trippy breaks, blended with perfection into slapped back, sultry, ethereal electronic bangers. Jump aboard Josh’s love train and expect a seamless adventure that stops off with Attica Blues, Al Green, Kruder and Dorfmeister and everything in between. It’s immaculate, and a mix that you will want to play over and over, and over again. Josh has spent the last decade on a breathless trip through the fringes of London’s shifting house and techno continuum. As a DJ, vocalist and activist of British-Ugandan descent, Caffé’s influence has been felt everywhere from institutions such as Dalston Superstore and Adonis to his own Love Child party, curated at Fabric, where Caffé holds an influential residency. Collaborating with international icons of dance music and fashion such as Honey Dijon, he has become an even more visible and respected presence in recent years. Josh's mix coincides with an upcoming album and off the back of two hit singles ‘According To Jacqueline’ and ‘Do You Wanna Take Me Home?’ (remixed by Steffi & Virginia), both effortlessly capture Caffé’s vision of queer liberation and sensuality.Big thank you to Dawn for organising this mix.

From the vaults! This will be the first mix in a series where I recorded myself playing and pretty much got carried out of the club but miraculously the DJing was 'ok'. I have no idea how either. 

The Gathering at Doboz was one of the many times that my good friend David Crimson from Hungary booked me to play but it's memorable for slightly alternative reasons. Doboz is one of the famous 'ruin bars' in Budapest so it's an old apartment building which has been converted into a club but still has the original 60s communist bloc vibes present in the surroundings. I love Budapest and have been there many times due to the kindness and welcome from Crimson and his friends. 

I considered myself a pretty good drinker back in 2011 but I had a few slips after moving to Berlin as I was getting booked in places which had a big shot culture. Shouts to Poznan, Moscow, St Petersburgh, Tartu, Warsaw - I gained some great tales of near arrest, trying to sleep outside in minus 15 and waking up in strange beds with no memory for my memoirs. 

So I had a few 'mishaps' which taught me to respect pure alcohol. Or taught me to build up my tolerance further by plenty of shots in Berlin - I got there in the end. 

So at this gig I stupidly got stuck into the Palinka before the gig, I thought I had had 'a few' but David told me after the gig that I had drunk something like 7-9 shots in a very short time. Anyways I started my set and all seemed good and more shots were delivered to the decks. I guess it was that classic shots thing where they hit you all at once. Then things got a bit hazy and I remember kind of coming to and lying on the pile of coats in the DJ booth. Bear in mind this is while playing a main room headline set which my friends had been planning for several months. 

After that I am not sure what happened but David told me he had to get me and my records up several flights of stairs back to his flat where I was staying and I was sitting on my bag and refusing to move. All I can say is I am very sorry David. We're still friends honest.

Born and raised on Detroit's westside in the late 60's Norm's addiction to music began at an early age.By the age of 13 years old Norm's diverse musical outlook consisted of Disco, Progressive, Jazz.
 
Starting off Norm collected good music (45's-8-tracks-Vinyl) with proceeds earned from his paper route and eventually was introduced to Ken Collier who just happened to live 3 blocks over. Most of the Disco and Progressive Talley was introduced to during this time was through Ken. With one turntable, an eight-track player, a receiver and some speakers, Talley would listen to music with friends.
 
One of these friends eventually needed a DJ for a backyard party, which Talley played with his one turntable without mixing. After earning money to buy a full set-up, he soon had many requests for gigs, and has launched an internationally successful career as a DJ, producer, and all around musician.
