Hour of Light is hosted by Ahu, Istanbul-based cult singer, DJ and songwriter.

This month Ahu's guest is singer, actress and Film Noir's front woman Josephine de la Baume. Expect to hear an in depth chat and Ahu's take on 60s 70s French music especially soundtracks.

Film Noir is a Paris-based rock band, born in 2018. Fronted by the de La Baume siblings (Joséphine et Alexandre), along with Martin Rocchia, Victor Le Dauphin and Guillaume Rotier.

Vertiges (Men of Glory) their first EP, crafted between Los Angeles et Paris, came out in September 2019, gathering critical acclaim and entrain the prestigious playlists of France Inter, BBC6 and French national TV.

Their second EP, Tendrement, produced by Samy Osta (Juniore, La Femme, Feu! Chatterton) released in June 2020, confirmed their breakthrough in a rough and sensitive mix of french and english hailed by the French and international press (NME, L’Officiel USA, DIY Magazine, Gigwise).

tribute to unique style of music…spoken word or poetry backed up by jazz and funk grooves. Poetry readings in public places, clubs, and colleges were common in the 60s. By L60s many started incorporating rhythmic percussions and music to their poetry readings….so it started becoming a performance.  It was a new way of expressing the state of mind or current social and political issues. During the 70s, spoken word mixed with music was also used during stand-up comedy performances.  Many have said that this style served as the foundation of emceeing or raping.  It is all vinyl show …so strap your belts and get ready to go deep down to the roots of spoken funk.
