New Born is a group of four Italian immigrants who all lived in the area around Ulm/Bavaria. In 1981 they released a 7"-single which featured the track "Galaxy" on the B-side. The label Schatzi Musik, run by Le Discoboulet in Munich is  rereleasing Galaxy on 12". 

Apart from the original and the First Born Version, the EP also contains a remix by Alexander Arpeggio and an edited dance floor version called "Space Rework".

He runs the bi-weekly radio series @islandtimeradio , concentrating on deep dives into on off-the-grid music from Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, and is also a frequent collaborator of @late-feelings blog.

"This mix started with the idea of bringing together some uptempo African tracks off records that I find really special, but for reasons relating to rhythm or sonic palette, haven't been able to find a home for in past projects, so stylistically/structurally it's a bit of different territory. It's mostly West African with a few exceptions, starting with a Baoulé song from Ivoirienne artist Mossia, then going into some highlife-fusion, soukous, afrodisco, zouglou, etc. Thanks Desert Island Disco for the invite and collaboration, as I'm a big fan of what you guys are doing. hope you all enjoy!"
