Two hot remixes of O.N.O. electro-pop smash ‘Gran Music’? Yes please.

Running Back artist Enzo Elia does away with the light touches of the original in favour of something moodier and more atmospheric. Rugged electro dissonance abounds in the bass synth, which chugs away menacingly beneath light snares and driving hi-hat and ride patterns. The breathy vocals take on a different character in this darker context, creating a trippy feel with their hazy tones. Sustained pads build the mood towards the break as the bass synth unfurls its gnarly teeth. Rasping textures and incessant percussive hits fire up the breakdown, leading to crescendo of bleeping arpeggios that hark back to progressive house in its heyday. Throw in some tense stabs and intense, distorted pulses and you’ve got yourself an all-encompassing riot of sound.

Man-of-the-moment Captain Mustache lays his Parisian touch down on the second mix, opting for throbbing analog bass thrusts and ticking old skool percussion, before unleashing a fizzing lead arpeggio and breakbeat pattern that gives the track an entirely new dimension. Old skool electro with modern pop sensibility, it’s a killer rework that’s sensitive to the charms of the original while adding an element of beefiness to the proceedings.

Support for French duo O.N.O. has come from the likes of Chloe, Jennifer Cardini, Terr and Lauren Laverne from BBC 6 Music as well as fashion publication Numero Mag. They’ve been enjoying their own residency in Paris, and have plenty more tasty music waiting in the wings.

Duro starts the year by the bonfire with “Piel de Oso", the first collaboration between two beloved in-house artists, Theus Mago & Tyu, and the Spanish rapper, Livia. The cut is abetted by two remixes, the first one comes from Israelis sidereal groovers, Rina X Benji. The second one by the loco weed brothers, Moisees & ZEA, a saiko rebajado track.

The opener is the original cut, an opiate and hypnotic track where Livia's flow is diluted with spirited Latin percussions, a bouncy bass, recondite and baffling melodies creating shadows between fire and smoke. Fresh from smashing the dancefloors across the globe with the genius Switchdance collaboration named "Reak", Rina comes back to Duro alongside Benji. Cut where the duo accelerate the rhythm, creating a percussive and dreamlike night journey where animals and machines dance to the rhythm of drums and flames.

At dawn is the version shaped by ZEA and Moisees, a cut with vocals distorted, taking Livia's voice to a Voodoo and wild spectrum. A wide bass line, accompanied by astral synthesizers, arcane melodies and acid sounds.

Artist bio:
Juan Francisco Ponte Della Giustina (DELLA) is a composer, musical producer, DJ, and performer born in Bahía Blanca, Argentina.
He began his career in 2006 as a guitar player. In 2012, he moved to Buenos Aires where he dived into the electronic and academic music scenes.
He performed at several shows and tours around South America and Europe, where he played with his own projects, as a session musician, and as a DJ, for crowds that summed up to 15.000 people.
He wrote and produced pieces for works exhibited in galleries and museums in Buenos Aires, NYC, Madrid, Perth, Milan, La Habana, and Cusco.
Since 2018 he resides in Barcelona, where he’s currently developing new discographic material with Jung Li and Cobra Rocket. Also, he is currently releasing electronic music with #1 labels like @Anjunadeep
