A very overdue mix release.... I have been massively distracted with production this year, can't wait to start sharing some original tunes soon....  There is a cheeky Sturge edit of Belfast in this mix!

This mix was recorded first take and is a collection of tunes that I discovered during 2021. It goes on a journey through progressive, electronica, indie, breaks, ambient, house and melodic techno! Not in that order.. I  hope you enjoy it..

Through a series of epic synchronicities that started last year at Burning Seed , I was invited to play at Papania, a brand new theme camp from Sydney. The crew that created Papania could not have been more welcoming and each and every one of them has left the biggest imprint on my heart <3 Thank you so much for having me guys, it was such an honour to play your first ever party at Seed. You should be so incredibly proud of Papania, you absolutely NAILED IT!!!! And a BIG thank you to my friend John-Henry who I bumped into a couple hours before my set and brought his Sax along, I just love the magic that happens at Seed :)

It's easy to assume that New Zealand's Out Of Sorts came out of nowhere when their spirited first remix made its way into the hands of Kompakt Records, gaining attention from some of electronica's most favoured selectors. Something about their productions showcased that they weren't just one trick ponies, but seasoned studio professionals. In fact, Out Of Sorts has always been there. And now, after huge international success under a different moniker, they have embraced a sound that's difficult to pigeonhole, leaving the past almost irrelevant – except that this is a duo who know how to bring it.

From the grimiest clubs to the most revered festivals on the global circuit, somewhere in the abyss, you may just hear something out of sorts. 

Keep your ears open for their tracks on Beat & Path,  a label they co-run alongside Balance member Uone. Ahead of their performance at the upcoming sold out Strawberry Fields festival, the duo found some time to send us an exclusive mix.

To wrap a momentous year of memorable events and stellar music, The Cityfox Odyssey: NYE & NYD (bit.ly/CFNYE2019) has been especially programmed to kick start another with in an extraordinary musical voyage. Leading the expedition is a carefully assembled roster of house and techno heavyweights such as Tale of Us, Jamie Jones and Lee Burridge, alongside Cityfox artists and dear friends, both old and new - Adriatique, Atish, and WhoMadeWho - just to name a few. Among them, we are delighted to host the original “super-house” heroes: Andhim. 

So, in anticipation of The Odyssey, and another trip round the sun, the duo has curated this uplifting Foxcast, to remember the great times, and look onwards for more. 

Originating from Cologne, Andhim was immediately lauded for their funky upbeat sound in 2010 when minimal was all the rage. Unique and signature, their sets caught the attention of the Get Physical imprint, on which “The Wizard of Us” was released in 2013. Their own musical odyssey led them to creating their own label, Superfriends in 2016, when they self-categorized themselves as “super-house," lest they be pigeonholed to any genre in particular. To Andhim, it's simple: make and play happy and carefree music.

The duo kicks off this Foxcast with a groovy, melodic symphony of synthesized sounds that sets the tone to hypnotize for the entire hour, a taste of what’s to come on NYE. Bouncy bass lines weave through an atmospheric, spacey soundscape provided by tracks like “Sideral (BCN Version)” byTalaboman, “All Is Well” by Jarry, and Rüfüs Du Sol’s Underwater (Adam Port Remix). 

With such positive vibes, 2019 is looking bright already.
