The second episode of the microCastle podcast welcomes label artist Jamie Stevens. The Australian producer is coming off the release of his second original project for us entitled 'The Healing'. Released earlier this month, the four track EP featured a Guy J remix  and was a huge success reaching #7 and #2 in the Beatport overall and Electronica Top 100s respectively. The EP's lead cut, the deep and emotive 'My Tears Don't Help Me' has been regarded as some of Jamie's most unique work to date and also reached #1 in the KissFM Australia charts. For Jamie's podcast showcase we've chosen his live set from the Chameleon Recordings 7 year anniversary event from August 15th.  Jamie had the honour of closing the event out and it was certainly one to remember, as he effortlessly worked through varied styles of hypnotic techno and indistinct melodies,  to an eventual finale where at the urging of Chameleon Recordings boss Steve Ward, he drops his classic Infusion bootleg of Kate Bush 'Running Up That Hill', now over 13 years old and was a favourite of Sasha, Digweed, Nick Warren and a long list of other DJs for quite some time. Eelke Kleijn is a rare talent. With work stretching across film scores, deep live shows and incredibly well formed production, he crosses a boundary from electronic producer and into a true modern day composer. With peers and tastemakers standing up for this unmistakable imagination, the Rotterdam based music maker’s potential has no bounds.

Eelke has released two albums and an array of first class remixes for the likes of John Legend and originals including his single “Celebrate Life” that was hand picked as BBC Radio 1’s ‘Essential New Tune.’ Sony to Eskimo Recordings to Suara have seen the young Dutchman’s vision in productions become world heard.

Defying limitations as an electronic artist, his work as a Hollywood ‘soundtracker’ has been seen in Parker, The Crossing, Wrath of the Titans, This Means War and Ron Howard’s Rush trailer. His career is in a constant accelerating push to the top and 2016 was no exception. Venturing to Seoul to perform in South Korea for the first time ever, he celebrated stand out performances around the globe in Los Angeles, New York, Argentina and several other night long sets as well. 

Furthering his cinematic endeavors, Eelke Kleijn released his bootleg for The Hunger Games song “The Hanging Tree” by James Newton Howard featuring leading lady Jennifer Lawrence. Having also built a new studio last year, Eelke spent much of his time creating new music leading up to the launch of his new imprint DAYS like NIGHTS.

Born in Zagreb in the early ‘70s, his career in dance music stretches back the best part of 20 years, but it’s only in the new millennium that he’s been using his own name for his productions. Over the years he’s graced many of the world’s most prestigious and best-loved techno institutions – including mega-festivals I Love Techno, EXIT, Awakenings and Wire, and cutting-edge clubs like Berghain, Matter (RIP), Womb, Air, Fuse and Space. He counts a longstanding relationship with Belgium’s legendary Music Man label amongst his achievements, an imprint that has also played host to releases by everyone from Jeff Mills (for whose label Tomorrow he created the Sculptures mini-LP) to Green Velvet to Robert Hood, and after completing his acclaimed debut album Escapements in 2008, he’s got the follow-up in the works (for completion by the end 2010).

Petar Dundov makes intelligent electronic music that breaks boundaries, moves feet and twists minds. He is without a doubt one of the most inspiring, original and daring producers in electronica, and with the likes of Sven Väth, Francois K, Laurent Garnier, Adam Beyer, Josh Wink, Guy J, Glimpse, Hernan Cattaneo, Brendan Moeller, and Danny Tenaglia amongst his fans, it would be hard to disagree.

Italy’s Luca Bacchetti has in some shape or form been involved in the music industry since 1992. His experience is evident in the professionalism, and unique sound that he pushes. 

His earlier EP releases on labels like Tenax, Wagon Repair, and Ovum, have led to signings for other quality imprints that include Crosstown Rebels, All Day I Dream, and Bedrock. In 2013 Luca started his own label, and created the now highly respected ENDLESS Recordings, which boasts tracks from buzz artist like Trikk, Eagles & Butterflies, Love Over Entropy, and, of course, there are releases from Bacchetti himself. 

As a DJ, he is also a renowned selector, and has played in over 80 countries at the world’s best clubs, and festivals such as Burning Man, Panorama Bar, and fabric.This coming September Bacchetti will release his debut LP ‘Secret World’ on his own imprint, alongside several remixes, and two new EPs, with one of them being released on the Japanese label Endless Flight.

On this mix for Balance, Bacchetti delivers a contemporary soundscape of house, and techno that takes in Damon Jee, Jimi Jules, Lauer and more.
