I usually don't have much to say about my mixes and this time is no different. It's music from the softer spectrum of electronic dance music (I hate that this term is usually used to describe a very specific genre)recorded on a rainy midweek afternoon. These last few months, I've been working on observing the shift within my taste as a DJ, producer, and label head. I find that these moments of self reflection help move ambiguous implicit decisions to explicit artistic choices. This helps me move closer to operating with artistic fearlessness.

I'm spending more time reaching outside the boxes I’ve been sitting in, while at the same time keeping a foot in the door as a nod to where I’ve come from. This diffusion between worlds is what's most exciting to me at the moment. Hopefully you too.

Joe Miller is an English-born beatmonger, influenced in equal measure by heaving clubs, and the earthy melancholy of forests. 
He grew up in Australia, where he learned to craft sets that are whimsical and left-field, evoking a sense of place. In 2013 he delivered us one of the most exquisite mixes you will ever find, a beautiful pastiche of tracks new and old expertly weaved together. Since then Joe has released music on labels ranging from All Day I Dream (alongside Jamie Stevens) to Manual Music and much more. Make sure to watch out for his upcoming release on our own Dawn Till Dusk imprint. 
As expected, Joe’s mix is an adventurous 44 track narrative that will keep you hooked from start to finish.

It's been about a year, the time felt right to make another Slinky mix. For those unfamiliar, this is a series of mixes I do occasionally, where tracks are intentionally stretched and slowed down. Transitions and overlaps are purposefully drawn out, the way these tracks slowly wind together becomes a point of focus, as opposed to an invisible, smooth transition. This mix evokes the passage of time, which has needless to say felt quite strange this year.
