I don't like the beach very much, but this is what I think it sounds like.

A Day At The Beach

Who do you think you are, trying to typecast me?
Confusing me with labels, as you stroll right past me,
without even asking, if I cared for your comment -
adhering to your views like a lady in a convent.
None of your words can deter me from my goal,
Of becoming the best that no-one’s ever known.
But being myself never seemed so hard,
now that harboring obsessions is a cause for alarm.

Started off with Legos, then I moved on to handhelds;
my love for Star Trek invaded my brain like a mind meld.
Surely some were just internal fads that I had,
though Pikachu was by my side since the very first Super Smash
Brothers and ladies, I’d like to make something clear,
I’m no longer in defense of my right to be weird.
These figments of imagination that I’ve befriended
gave me more life experience than I ever thought that I needed

The Caped Crusader, a true Batman among men,
assured me justice will prevail until the very end
Video games taught me we can always try again;
all ya gotta do is press the reset button inside your head.
Heart is an element, just ask Captain Planet -
a facet of the universe we can’t take for granted.
The future’s undetermined, just a sum of our decisions:
Choose-Your-Own-Adventure showed us that when we were children.
Harry Potter cast a little spell on my soul -
Now I understand that love and death are two things we’ll all know
Yes, I’m a nerd, but at least I sing it proud.
I’m gonna fus-ro-da the roof off this house.

Here’s a thought, man: just take a step back,
and let me get back to doin’ my own thing.
If you don’t like it, take my advice and:
“Fuck off”
I’m getting vulgar, yes I’m coming across quite crass
though what I’m getting at is different results are gonna happen
from one person to the next, we’re not carbon copies.
I’m an individual and you’re not gonna stop me.
