Living in Paris with his heart rooted in the southern hemisphere, Didier Doudou started record collecting between the waves of the Indian Ocean and the heat of mainland Africa. Though a Zouk-seeker for many years, he has developed a more recent appetite for African Bubblegum, sugary Synth-Pop, and steamy Street Soul. He recently joined the @clubroquette crew based in Paris, who are becoming well known for their top-notch selections and silky mixing skills.

About his mix, Didier explained... "I selected some recent discoveries and long-time favourites that try and capture the essence of the Islander Cast series. I wanted to mix Brazilian Hip-Hop, R&B, Caribbean Ragga and African Zouk (obviously) into an hour long low-tempo set that captures the beauty of a golden afternoon drawing in to a sultry sunset. "💃

Alternatively, you can hear what he's been finding whilst digging out and about in good old school spots with plenty of dust via his YT channel.  After chatting he even decided to visit our local record shop (s/o's to 586 records) here in Newcastle.

Be prepared for a journey as after an overexcited session in his flat he end up recording a six and a half hour mix! Enjoy as one or in smaller parts :)
