Up next on The Guest Mix we welcome DJ and producer duo Timm Sure & Richard Hampson, aka Coyote.

Since their first meeting (after both becoming residents at the historically important club “Venus” in Nottingham), between them they spent the 90s’ with residencies at many of the decades seminal parties including the Gardening Club, Venus, Deluxe, The Bomb and Stealth, as well as making regular appearances at events such as Andrew Weatheralls’ “Sabresonic” parties, Ministry of Sound “Open All Hours”, Club UK, Voodoo, Malibu Stacey, Golden, Progress, Moneypennys and even guesting as tour DJs for Underworld and James.

Coyote officially came into being in 2004, when Timm and Ampo decided to start making music together. Since taking on the moniker, Coyote have had a wealth of releases and remixes on a huge array of labels including International Feel, Claremont 54, Ene, Nang, Needwant, Aficionado, RVNG International, Polydor, Phantasy, Rothmans, Tusk Wax and their own “Is it Balearic?” itself, for artists including Odyssey, Charles Webster, Claire Mcquire, Soft Rocks, Runaway, Jose Padilla, Connan Moccasin, Chris Coco, the Backwoods and many, many more.
 After the birth of Coyote, Is It Balearic? Recordings followed in 2007. Initially conceived as merely a platform for the original Ltd Edition Coyote releases (all of which sold out very quickly) it has since branched out into releasing music from artists including Tiago, Downtown Party Network, Max Essa, Hardway Brothers, Justin Robertson, Social Disco Club, Midlake, Smith & Mudd, Mushrooms Project, and Craig Bratley, Leo Mas, Sorcerer as well as breaking new artists such as The Project Club, Giulio Dj, Ahiki, Rompante, and Pharao Black Magic, Daniel Whitehead. 
Is it Balearic? Also boasts a list of remixers that reads like a who’s who of the current Balearic music scene. From Norways dub disco legend Rune Lindbaek, Belgiums world renowned Aeroplane, to underground pioneers such as Andrew Weatherall, Hardway Brothers Phoreski, Pacific Horizons, Time & Space Machine, Prins Thomas, The Backwoods, Last Waltz, Begin… (the list goes on)...  
Thanks to their distinctive sound as both DJs and music makers, Coyote find themselves regularly invited to play music all across the UK and further afield, in places like Japan, Ibiza and Scandinavia.

Their latest 12”/mini album ‘Everything Moves, Nothing Rests’ has just been released on my last guest Phil Cooper’s label, NuNorthernSoul. Go check it via bandcamp.

Next up on @idlecellars mix series we have a dear friend, legendary Dj, selector and producer @felix-dickinson blessing us with his unique style and effortless flow. Some sweet unknowns and a few lost classics thrown in, a perfect journey from start to finish.

Felix has been part of the UK's underground dance scene for the last 3 decades, learning his trade DJing at free parties and illegal raves and co-founding his first record label Ugly Music in the 90's. He's produced records for well renowned record labels worldwide including DFA, Rush Hour, Eskimo, Golf Channel, Claremont 56, Futureboogie and his own label Cynic.

He has secured slots at well known clubs and festivals across the globe, and the last few years have seen him receive a lot more attention due to his high profile residencies for Block 9 (Glastonbury) and Croatia’s Love International as well as regular appearances at Houghton, Gottwood, Thailand’s Wonderfruit festival and regular tours of Japan, the USA and beyond.

"The brief for this mix was something that you could listen to with a glass of wine in your hand as the sun goes down. It’s a pretty mellow early evening selection, something you can unwind to at the end of the day, but get’s a little more lively as the second and third glass goes down, so could just as easily be something to bung as you’re getting ready to go out."

The Sunrise Social - Plastic Fantastic

The Sunrise Social is delighted to bring you a wonderful LP mix from Andy Pye, based in Leeds, UK. 
In addition to running the Balearic Social Recordings imprint and hosting his weekly Balearic Social radio show on Music For Dreams, Andy also guests on the bi-monthly radio show Sounds In Waves on Alto Radio, and the monthly radio show Paradise Social on 1BTN.FM.

This is Andy's second mix for the series, and as you'd come to expect, he delivers a simply masterful selection here, no obvious records and 100% vinyl. If I may briefly mention a few, 'Window' by Nobuyoshi Ino, taken from the 1981 LP Mountain is a fine example of Japanese jazz-fusion and ambient music. Greg Foat's 'After The Storm', a lovely slice of contemporary jazztronica (as one Discogs reviewer perfectly described it) from his 2020 double album Symphonie Pacifique. Without a doubt Foat's most accomplished release to date. Closing the mix, and pitched way down (to confuse all you Shazam'er's out there) is the dreamy end-of-night jam 'Find It In Your Eyes' by The System. Supposedly an unreleased track from 1983, Music From Memory licensed and released this gem of a record in 2016.

Finally after some time we managed to get our friend Christoffer aka Funky Loffe on the spaceship knobs!
Funky Loffe is a DJ, Music Producer and Cratedigger from Stockholm, Sweden that has been rocking the dance floors all over since the 90s. Truly a deep digger in spirit as he is, he wanted this time around to please the nerdy listener with a focused set consisting of Scandinavian and Baltic rare grooves. 

Last year Funky Loffe released is debut EP called Swedish Disco Edits where he
repurposed 3 forgotten Swedish Disco gems and made them suitable for the dance

With a superb new modern Brazilian Disco EP out on the excellent @fileunderdisco which has garnered remixes from heavy hitters JKriv, Dicky Trisco and Joutro Mundo and has seen some huge DJ support we thought that it was high time that we got to know @Processman a little better.

Having checked out his Soundcloud we quickly realised that as well as being a talented producer that he is also seriously  brilliant DJ so we asked him to step up to the LV decks which he has done in spectacular fashion mixing up a fusion of disco, boogie and house with a serious Latin Flare.
