Danish music connoisseur Mike Salta is a man of many talents. Whether he’s acting as musician, DJ, record producer, radio broadcaster, remixer or composer, Mike Salta always strives to create musical magic. Operating in a sphere where time and genre is nothing and vibe is everything, and with 35+ years of experience from performances and entrepreneurship all over the world, Salta has released records on an array of highly regarded labels including NuNorthern Soul, Music For Dreams, Café Del Mar and Claremont 56. Keep a look out for Mike Salta's 12" remix of 'City Lights' by Flashbaxx which is due out on NuNorthern Soul this spring. He also has a single called 'Espalmador' coming out on Music For Dreams in March/April and a full length album due for release in the summer.

Mike Salta has delivered an outstanding mix for the series. Recorded in 2022, his thoughtful selections are a perfect balance of old and new. There’s no shortage of gold on here, such as Suso Saiz' ambient masterpiece ‘Un Humbro Oscuro’. Back in 2016 Music From Memory licensed and made this track available on both vinyl and digital formats for the first time. Quincy Jones smooth jazz-funk classic 'Velas', off his 1981 three-times Grammy Award winning LP The Dude. Philippe Royan’s blissed-out ‘Cap Malheureux‘, the instrumental B-side of a super-rare 7” from 1990. Absolutely gorgeous record. As for some of the newer material represented here, there's Simon Mills' brilliantly emotive track 'Coco', a digital/Bandcamp exclusive from 2020 which I'm hoping will get a physical release at some point. Closing the mix is Pablo Color's lovely guitar noodle 'El Abrazor' from his latest (at time of writing) LP Hora Azul, released in 2021. Our vibe is mellow. Eclectic mixes with styles ranging from ambient/world music to soul, jazz, funk, soft rock/west-coast/AOR, reggae, dub and house. Timeless music that has an overall laidback ‘sunrise’ feel.

Launched in 2021 as THE SUNRISE SESSIONS in partnership with Chris Coco and The Chill Out Tent, the series was initially an audio-visual experience with DJ mixes set to video footage of sunrises captured from locations around the globe.
