He hadn't imagined it might end like this, in tatters and ruins. However, it was everything that he deserved and he couldn't help but let out a wry smile thinking about each and every little bit of wrong he'd done across his long and desperate life. If only all those people could see him now, see what he'd become and where he'd end up. Perhaps they too would then let out the same discerning smile as if to say...

"I told you so..."

Drumpoet Community are celebrating a triumphant fifteen years of music with the release of a new compilation of tracks in instalments. What better way than to kick things off than with two powerhouses of the German electronic music scene and legends in their own right?

Roman Flügel & Frank Wiedemann have collaborated to produce a track of supreme quality which is destined to soar and rise eagerly through clubs this summer. You know it.

For the fourteenth release we have a various artists compilation, featuring a number of our favourite artists and friends, both established mainstays and young maestros.

The record features first-class contributions from Dharma, Emile Strunz, Ian Blevins, John Parsley, Kolomensky, Le Jeune Flück, MAN2.0, Stove, tecwaa, Swarsaktya, Pale Hulk, Dead Love Embargo & Bird of Paradise.

Dharma - A Quick Passing

On the eve of the release of his new album 'Les Délivrés', an extension of his soundtrack illustrating this poignant documentary on the struggle of the Uber Eats or Delivroo drivers, Maxime Dangles unveils 'Matin Bleu'.

Maxime Dangles entered the electronic music scene 15 years ago on the Kompakt label, collecting prestigious remixes (Moby, Green Velvet, Simian Mobile Disco, Kittin & The Hacker...). Reference of the international electronic scene, he’s renowned for his immersive and singular sound design that he shapes with his modular synths.

Nourished by the feelings of the protagonists of the documentary such as struggle, anger, stress, alienation or hope, Maxime Dangles signs here a militant soundtrack that prolongs the struggle of the Délivrés in a poetic way between IDM, electronica and ambient. With 'Matin Bleu', hope and the dream of a better life are translated with this contemplative and melancholic electronica track mixing delicate and sensitive piano notes with his singular modular sound that has made his trademark. A crossover of electronic and contemporary music reminiscent of Yann Tiersen's latest compositions or Fabrizio Rat.

The single is accompanied by a remix by French electro-pop revelation Penelope Antena, who revisits the track in a bright and unifying minimal house version.

'Les Délivrés' LP will be available on vinyl and digital February, 17th on Lifeguards - a new sub-label of Astropolis Records, and Maxime Dangles will premiere his new live show at Astropolis l'Hiver February, 11th

Language is a tricky thing. It’s possible to convey the most beautiful and heartfelt experiences with just a few words but meanings can be lost in translation. Language itself being just a symbol pointing to the actual thing, like fingers pointing to the moon it’s key not to mistake the finger for the actual moon. If you do you might miss all the heavenly glory the finger is pointing to. The map is not the territory.
Kiani & His Legion is back on SoHaSo with the next chapter in his sonic explorations. A mini-album that’s more than the sum of it parts, drawing you in with a story worth to be told. Using a language that doesn’t need to be explained trough words, the symbols merge with their meaning through sound.

The story commences with a female voice whispering gently to you to ‘close your eyes and fly’ and while making your journey don’t forget to ‘breath’. You get introduced to the sturdy drum patterns and eerie string pads that have become main ingredients for Kiani’s soundworld. Eindeloos takes an irresistible groove and badass walking bass winding up between endless flanging spirals.

Oval Flight starts out with the cheeky sound of an electric harp but inside it hides a seed that sprouts to enormous proportions. Beneath the beauty you can feel something sweltering, wanting to expose itself. It links back to the beginning and finally lifts you off with a grand gesture. If You Remember Me Then I Don’t Care If Everyone Else Forgets, uses haunting atmospheres that remind of 80’s science fiction or the eerie vibes found in Twin Peaks to provide safe landing ground beneath the feet after your flight.

L.O.V.E. forms an appropriate conclusion to the story, reflecting with a melancholic chord progression, soul healing choirs and the phonetic symbols ‘Lima, Oscar, Victor, Echo’ repeating till infinity.

Reculture returns for the second instalment of its newly launched record label series.  Stepping up we have trio S.E.T. with an eclectic single accompanied by 3 diverse remixes.  Whilst each track has it's differences, the EP predominantly revolves itself around the outlandish and abstract tones that are introduced by the Original Mix.
"06:19 (Massimiliano Pagliara Remix)" reinvents the bassline of the original with a 303 disco/acid overhaul setting the tone and style of the track, Massi's reinvention of the original brings energy to the dancefloor through the use of the lyrics and a suspenseful build-up making it a club anthem.
