Savages y Suefo's debut "Worldstyle" came out in early 2013. The eclectic album melts downtempo, dub, hip-hop, world music and electro-swing tunes. they are continuing the story with some nice remixes in also very different styles. The French trip-hop guru Kid Loco made an radio friendly version from the raw original of "Or Ve Hoshech" – a tune sung in old-hebrew language. Savages y Suefo’s longtime friend [dunkelbunt] brought new flavor to "Ballroom Breakers" with wobbling basslines and German vocals from MC Alix. Fab Samperi worked on the same tune, and his deep-swing-bossa idea fits perfect to the original vibe. Datax, one half of the Balkan Vision group made a perfect party drum’n’bass track from "Our World Our Style". M.W.D. did a groovy latin-house from "Baby Gone" while Jan Pyroman produced an atmospheric tune from "Tequila Man".
The vinyl version contains one and a half minutes of extra scratch tools on both sides, while the digital version brings more quality remixes and instrumentals from MustBeat Crew, Hanzee, Kid Loco and [dunkelbunt]. In total we can say that this EP works well in different sets wheter it’s played on a party, in a bar or in the radio.

Sydney, Australia’s Omegaman is back at it again, this time with a bangin’ Remix EP of his recent release on Fort Knox Recordings, the Hot Sauce EP. A longtime producer, collaborator and remixer, Omegaman has already left a mark on the international funk and breaks scene. Building from a very strong original release, Omegaman enlisted the production talents of some of his closest friends around the world, and the result is a funky slice of the tropics dished up for the dance floor massive.

Washington, DC’s kings of Tropicaliente, the Empresarios are featured on Oye Como Suena and the Skeewiff Remix ignites the vibe into an irresistible salsa breaks banger.
The funk hits the fan with the Fort Knox Five Remix of Lovers Skank featuring Patou, pure electro-ska with some groovy bass lines. The hi-hats and percussion are crisp on Qdup’s Remix of A Bailar featuring Vincent Sebastian, another slice of electro Latin funk for the dance floor. Rounding out the EP are the big beats and reggae skanks of DJ Maars’ Remix of Follow Me, and Mustafa Akbar’s vocals fit perfectly with the funky dancehall soul sound.

International Velvet is the solo side project of Rob Myers, guitar and sitar player for Fort Knox Five, Thunderball, See-I and Thievery Corporation. International Velvet’s track Sitargazer, the psychedelic breakbeat anthem, was well received and played worldwide. Germany’s own downtempo legends Mo’ Horizons have reworked the track into a balkan drum’n’bass monster. Taking the original sitar lines and adding funky polka on top of a stepping drum’n’bass beat takes Sitargazer into unexpected territory. Mo'Horizons also provide an Alternative Freestyle for those looking for a slightly more laidback stepper.

The roots reggae band See-I features six members of Thievery Corporation and is hometown Washington, DC sensation with their weekly Wednesday night party at the Eighteenth Street Lounge. Their reggae-rock tune Homegrown has become the anthem of Wednesday nights and is well known by the See-I faithful. Two Canadian producers each turn in their own unique remixes of this great track. Stickybuds from Kelowna, BC has been busy releasing tunes on Goodgroove Records went a different route with his electro-funk remix that chops up the vocals and funks up the tune big time. Toronto’s own Dubmatix kept Rob Myers’ rocking guitar lines and Rootz and Zee’s vocals, but turned the song into a drum’n’bass creeper.

With sounds ranging from drum’n’bass to electro, downtempo, and some serious funk & soul thrown in, The New Gold Standard 2 Remixed EP 3 raises the bar once again, showcasing all the talented artists on Fort Knox Recordings.
