TRIGAIDA is the latest musical phenomena to have come out of the small but colorful contemporary electronic scene of Eastern Europe’s Bulgaria. The folktronica trio is formed by multi-instrumentalist Georgi Marinov (Horhe), folklore singer Asya Pincheva, and multifaceted electronic producer Ivan Shopov.

ELATE is the debut full-length offering of the project and is a unique blend of traditional Bulgarian folklore and contemporary electronic music, which is also generously sprinkled with influences ranging from contemporary jazz, to world music and neoclassical thanks to the plethora of world-class guest musicians, who were also involved in the album. The artwork of ELATE is based on an oil piece by Bulgarian graffiti pioneer Nasimo.

In ELATE the talented trio is not alone in their journey. In an attempt to expand their musical landscape, by embracing an even wider variety of world music languages, they have invited world-renowned collaborators among which Theodosii Spasov (kaval), Dimitar Bodurov (piano), Akira Uschida (clavichord, saxophone), Maxim Anokhin (programming), Burak Malcok (ney), Ace Vaptsarov (guitar, strings arrangement), Mariya Dimitrova (back vocals), Neyko Bodurov (trumpet), Tayfun Ateş (percussion) and Güldeste Mamaç (violin). Their contributions allowed TRIGAIDA to add even more nuances to their already innovative and exciting musical palette.

TRIGAIDA commissioned the artwork of ELATE to world-acclaimed Bulgarian graffiti artist Nasimo. Active since the early 90s and considered one of the most important graffiti and fine art muralists on the Balkans, Nasimo is a regular collaborator of Ivan Shopov. In his current work, the artist is equally focused on muralism and studio painting, further developing his signature style and vision.

Today we find ourselves back at home, together, after many months on the road from our various projects. 
Our core focus to finalise our forthcoming Singles, it feels symbolic that three years on we find ourselves coming full circle to finish this same song we started that very first day.

We reflect on how much has changed & how much is still the same. From my 9-5 desk job to now writing music & DJing around the globe. I'm music lover. I live in St. Louis Missouri but I'm originally from Ruse, Bulgaria.

БALKANSKY is an audio-visual art project that combines traditional Bulgarian music with electronic sound and vision. It is realized in collaboration between Ivo Christov and Ivan Shopov. Later on the musical legend Theodosii Spassov joined the project and nowadays, all three of them present the project live all around the world. When the project is presented as a live act it includes music performed by Theodosii Spassov, mixed with electronic sounds and beats by Ivan Shopov and interactive visuals from Ivo Christov.

Three years after their debut album "Kuker" and its huge success, БALKANSKY present their new album "ORENDA", featuring the guest musicians Yanka Rupkina (Vocal), Haig Yazdjian (Oud, Vocal), Ivan Georgiev (Kaba Bagpipe) and Milen Kirov (Piano).

"ORENDA" contains 10 tracks and it was released on CD and limited edition 180 gram red vinyl by Kuker Music.

KUKER MUSIC is an independent Bulgarian record label and music publisher founded in 1999 by music producer and graphic designer Ivo Christov, music manager Dimiter Panev and sound engeneer and musician Roumen Spassov. 
For more than 10 years Kuker Music have released albums of the most notable artists in contemporary Bulgarian music history - Theodosii Spassov, Antoni Donchev, Eva Quartet and many others. In 2005 the album "Fairground" by Ivo Papasov produced and published by Kuker Music have won the Audience Award at the traditional BBC Radio 3 Awards for World Music. Currently the company has ceased its activities and its founders are dealing with individual projects.

Ivo "Kuker" Christov is a Bulgarian graphic designer, music producer and photographer currently based in Sofia, Bulgaria. Since 1989 he has worked as a graphic designer of musical products. Ivo is best known for his design works for various releases by famous Bulgarian and foreign musicians and bands. He has done artwork for over 100 albums so far.
