Ballerine box is a Canadian pop punk project which started in 2008. It’s the solo project of frontman producer Jean-Philippe Labelle who started writing songs in his apartment in Montreal after a rough break up. The project is influenced by bands such as Yellowcard, Alkaline trio, Mxpx, The Ataris, Lagwagon, No user for name just to name a few of the bands which greatly influenced the sound of this record.

Through his writing you can feel heartbreaking stories, topics such as loss of close friends, suicide, identity crisis, a fear of the world were leaving behind to our kids. These touching stories are exploited in a very honest and clever way sitting on top of powerful pop punk melodies.   

What started as a simple songwriting exercise turned out into a full record after years of dedicated work piecing out the messed up puzzle in his head piece by piece. Identity crisis is the first full length cd of Ballerine box, Jean-Philippe Labelle frontman producer is currently looking to form a full band to start performing live and do the promotion of this new record to get a record deal!
