Hello everyone, apologies for our recent lack of online activity, we've been busy working away in our studio on new music which will be amongst you soon.
There have been many changes with the band in the last few months so we though it only right to keep you all updated.
Firstly the name, we are no longer to able to go under the name BIRD, so we have temporarily changed our social network page names to IÔ LONE (two seemingly random words) until we reveal the new project name.
Also it is with sadness that we have to announce that Sian is no longer working with the band, we value everything that she has done with us and continue to love and support one of our best friends.
We've decided to share a playlist that we've been compiling whist writing the new material, it's been used as a kind of musical mood board,we hope that you enjoy it and so please feel free to share any music for us to listen to too.

A War - My Fear & Me

You could call The Tea Street Band the most popular band the media has yet to recognise. They’ve headlined the 900-capacity Liverpool Evac, as well as Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen. Support shows include The Charlatans, Jagwar Ma, The Enemy and Inspiral Carpets. The five-piece’s album is funded by Pledge Music. Many higher profile artists have failed to reach Pledge targets, but The Tea Street Band achieved over 100% of their recording budget within a fortnight. Self-sufficient funding means it’s a freeing, uninhibited world away from label demands.

They’re the favourite new band of Shack icon Michael Head. Amongst airplay from Radio 1 to 6 Music has been a One Night Stand session for John Kennedy on XFM. Before games, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Everton have played their singles, Disco Lights and Lost For Words. Even Lennox Lewis is a fan. So there already exists a wealth of devotees won over by dizzying gigs. Plugging into the escapist spirit of early house music, propulsive rhythm section Nick Otageui and Dom Allen bear comparison to Mani and Reni, with Lee Smith’s vicious guitar lines preventing matters getting too sweet. It’s underpinned by Timo Tierney’s angelic vocals, encapsulating the band’s yearning desire for better days ahead. The shows’ euphoria is captured on their self-titled debut album, recorded at Liverpool studio Motor Museum with rising producer Al Groves (Jake Bugg, Courteeners). From the hypnotic pulse of Fiesta to Summer Dreaming’s wistful beauty, it’s a compelling listen that demands to be heard as one long ecstatic groove.
The Tea Street Band began by organising their own warehouse rave gigs around the North West, having formed from the ashes of acclaimed rockers The Maybes? 

 From there, shows at Kendal Calling and Liverpool Sound City have helped build the momentum for the band’s dream of uniting people at festivals. 

They have spent the spring on tour with Jimi Goodwin and are now ready to soundtrack the summer festival season. It’s a vision furthered by their album. Put a brew on and dive in.

From their creative space at the Fallout Factory in Liverpool, VEYU have been piecing together a musical mosaic of bright light adventures and snatched conversations, that whither and bloom with abandon and regret, soundtracked by cascading rhythms and evolving hooks.

Dead Buttons are a Seoul-based rock ‘n’ roll duo comprised of Korean guitarist/vocalist Jihyun Hong and Paraguayan/Korean drummer/vocalist Kanghee Lee. A veteran of Korea’s indie scene, Hong is also the guitarist in the Seoul hardcore band Combative Post and previously played in the punk bands Sweet Guerillaz and Oi! Resolute, along with the psych- and pop-tinged garage rock act The Infamous Orchestra. 

He met Lee after Lee had finished his mandatory military service and the two decided to make Dead Buttons.  The band was originally formed as a trio in the fall of 2013. Showing their ambitious nature early on, less than two months after making their live debut they traveled to Tokyo in December 2013 to perform at the Japan-Korea Punk Festival. 

In the summer of 2014, Hong and Lee parted ways with their bassist. Wanting a fresh start for Dead Buttons, they threw away all of their older material and began crafting new tunes as a two-piece.  

In May 2015, Dead Buttons will issue their first EP, Whoever You Are. The five-track effort was recorded over the course of five hours last December. Whereas the band’s early material had more of a garage punk feel, the fantastic Whoever You Are boasts a wider sonic palette mixing garage rock, blues, country, punk, and psychedelic music to create an infectious sampler that showcases this fast-rising pair’s potential. In May 2015, Dead Buttons are performing several gigs in the UK in support of Whoever You Are including a stop at the Liverpool Sound City music festival and Brixton Windmill.

Announces 2nd single ‘Das Pop’ – due Dec 4th

Upcoming live shows including Liverpool supporting Tea Street Band on 19/12/15 at Buyers Bar in Liverpool 

Please welcome Johnny Sands – a striking new talent from Lancashire whose second single ‘Das Pop’ will be released on Dec 4th through Baltic Records. 


Combining a delicate piano melody alongside drum machines, analog synths and Sands’ distinct vocals, the three-minute slice of pop showcases Johnny’s skills as an accomplished producer and singer. 

Son of a Parisian jazz musician and his muse, a psychologist who pioneered talking to animals, Johnny grew up immersed in music and arts. After travelling extensively and a brief dalliance as a model, Sands settled in Liverpool and quickly embedded himself in the local music scene curating and promoting gigs as well as working on his own music. 

A fruitful collaboration swiftly followed between himself and Swiss producer Dave Berger (Outfit) and after they disbanded, Sands concentrated on his solo efforts and self-released an EP, ‘Postcards’. The positive feedback galvanised him and he got to work on a debut album – which ‘Das Pop’ is taken from. His first single was download of the month in the Sunday Times. He is recently back from a series of gigs in Seoul, Korea.

Creating fragile soundscapes, Sands’ influences range from Air, Neil Young and Serge Gainsbourg to Talk Talk and The Blue Nile. 

Having supported the likes of Wild Beasts, Alt-J and Django Django, Johnny Sands is now striking out on his own; he has been confirmed for Liverpool Sound City and has also announced a single launch show in London.

Dead Buttons signed with U.K. record label Baltic Records and will release their first studio album titled Some Kind Of Youth produced by iconic rocker Kim In Su of Crying Nut.

Once the 11-track album is released, Dead Buttons will pursue promoting the album overseas. They will perform in the U.K. and participate at this year's Liverpool Sound City Music Festival on May 27 through 29.

Dead Buttons are a duo rock group, consists Hong Ji Hyun and Lee Kang Hee. They released their first EP Whoever You Are in 2014.
Dead Buttons previously performed at the Korean Stage in Liverpool on May 24, 2015 with other Korean indie groups like Jambinai, Thirdstones, PATiENTS, and Monoban in the lineup.
