Vertv Records boss, Eva 00, is back at it again with the sweet tune "Assegai Space Tour." This one is a part of a tidy little EP called Stalk Me, Stalk Me, Do It Again being released by the reliable Truth Radio on February 11th. His track unfurls at a relaxed pace of over nine minutes. It's a shifting, stuttering, sample-heavy floor filler. Sand-worn synth pads scurry underneath a heavy, hiccuping kick with plenty of glistening key flourishes and synth stabs to fill in any holes. A pitched down, soulful sample punctuates the track and lends it a haunted, yearning air. It's got all the makings of a future classic.

Shedding their usual sample house roots, Irish duo Long Island Sound are back on their brand new label, Signs of Space. That’s not to say we won’t find any samples on the record, but the direction is wholly different than what they’ve come to be known for in a short span of time. A brave move in today’s underground landscape where one wrong step can land you on a trip to house music irrelevancy. We think Rob and Tim may be onto something here though as the “Initial Ascent” EP is a well produced re-debut. 

Our premiere today is the A2 track entitled ‘Shadows From Nowhere’. It’s a breakbeat track at its core but the accompanying sounds are testament to the name of the label. Cosmic sounds adorn the piece with lush, spacey pads and a full, deep, bassline. Analog bleeps and bloops further cement the track as extraterrestrial while the emotive strings really add depth and feeling to it. It’s the standout track for us, although you’ll be sure to find similar flavours on the rest of the record.

Today we bring you a reverb-drenched house cut from Brazilian born producer, Gawk. The track "Walking By The Evening Drizzle" is full of classic synth and drums sounds with tons of forward momentum and excellent, tasteful leads. It's as timeless as they come. This tune and four others make up the soon to be released EP titled I Wandered Lonely As A Cloud on Yellow Island Records.

This five track EP takes the listener on a journey of travel, independence, and comfort in solitude in a foreign place - and allows us to experience the nostalgia that follows upon returning home.

When Catz 'n Dogz established their own label in 2010 their sole mission was to ensure it never became 'just another dance label'. A decade deep, their mission has been accomplished so far. With the label's remit as broad and innovative as the duo's productions and DJ sets, the focus has always been on soul, realness and human connections. From Eats Everything's debut single 'Entrance Song' to Rachel Row and husband KiNK's first single together 'Follow The Step' to the numerous 'Friends Will Carry You Home' collections, Pets has never lost sight of its purpose or raison d'etre.
