Clearing my song backlog a lill'... I wrote this song over a year ago, and TBCH I think it could use more love, or humor (same:), or somethin'. The lyrics are based on my lill' "AI Fair Use Manifesto", the basic ethical logic thing I created for myself--to clarify and anchor my own #fairuse values, in a simple, intentional way. Clarity matters (there's an unreleased song about that in my backlog, it says "Kindness is more clear than nice") at least for good conscience, and beauty sleep in peace and shizzle, you know? ... 

I mean, I dunno about you, but(t) I got a LOT of questions! I like to imagine all sensitive kids who grow up with no god nor bible (like me:) do learn to write their own bits of bibles, in various ways. Who knows? Like, how do YOU figure out the right & wrong?? I'm very curious about that, and also, a bit worried... for critical thinking aka education is such an (officially) underrated muscle in Murica, ha. When people ask "what would you tell your 20yo self?", I tend to snark a lill', and think "That most people are full of shite?"
To be fair, this is true, and one of the "harder to swallow" truths out there.  The good news is that many valuable life lessons such as this one can be learned by reading (ancient and modern) philosophers...  Nietzsche's quote (the inspiration for this song) makes it clear (to understand) and easy (to remember), so just remember this life-hack bc it's GOLD:  "They muddy the water to make it seem deep."  

This EPx5 is Release VOL.4 of this song (I love), and belongs in the BLOW chapter of Bananasutra, which basically includes songs about what's freakin' wrong with the world--you know, like wars, greed, envy, bullies, and liars, for example... I  don't have kids... but(t) I worry for 'em, and the future. you know? For example, how are kids supposed to learn and understand the difference between right & wrong, or the principles of "liberty, equality, fraternity", when the leader of the nation (in theory, a role model no? lol) is a convicted Felon driven by greed, cruelty, and zero ethical values? How?! Hoooow? Sigh... 

If only we could measure the true (tragic) cost of FOTUS Machiavellian Slaughter of our constitutional rights, and the law in general. Or at least educate the Great people of Murica, by publishing National and International #democracy dashboard index that clearly show this country is the class dunce in pretty much everything that matters long term? PRO-life people, for example, how about looking at a comparative infant mortality rate on the daily? To be clear, all I really know is I dunno shit about fck (like Socrates said:)—music and songwriting included. But(t) I feel it, the music, so damn deeep in my soul! I’m just a humble existential fool, a silly banana who likes to play and share, to question and learn. Words are my oldest best friends, hearing myself sing is a freaking miracle (trust me on that lol), and I believe curiosity and #gratitude are the keys to happiness… So voilà, there’s that.

Also, (if you’re curious) BananaSutra is not just a made up BS brand kinda word, it’s actually the name of my DIY Bible—a collection of songs telling true stories of faith, to help me (and perhaps you) make sense of a world gone wild, like bananas gone foul in shallow ignorance and deadly malevolence… Think of it as an agnostic testament of sorts, an audio book of songs with quirky lyrics about things that matter, like the definition of right and wrong, and the meaning of truth, joy, justice, peace, grace, and awe 🕊️

Some call it Artificial Intelligence, but(t) I call Authentic Imagination, Alternative Ideas, Augmented Innuendos, Abstract Illogisms… hopefully, you get the gist? The point being, life is the story we tell ourselves and LYRICS matter—each @bananasutra song has a wondering root and a loving purpose, guided by one of (my) 7 (bananas) sutras:
