What began as the main guitar riff recorded at Moser's through the twin-reverb became a pop love song through the majick of Garage Band, inspired by my one and only. Antonio Banderas makes a quick cameo, but you have to listen close.

from The Good Friday Spell 25 year reunion at Wally's Warehouse in Atlantic Beach, North Carolina on July 1st, 2015

     The Good Friday Spell was a psychedelic rock band that played the eastern NC music scene in the late 80's and 1990. Formed by Todd Humphries (bass), Jonathan Wertheim (lead vocals, guitar), & Scott Denmon (drums) from the remnants of the alt rock band, Mr. Toad's Bad Dream, with the addition of Brooks Butler (lead guitar, vocals), The Good Friday Spell began as primarily a classic and psychedelic rock cover band and soon evolved into a heavy psych-rock band with a unique style of jam and original tunes. Disbanded in 1990 as members went on to other projects (Vacation Bible School, Jupiter's Eye, Green Legged Goat, Space Monkey, etc.), GFS had a couple of reunions in the early 1990's; but members found themselves making music together over the years in various projects. Notably, Smokey Mountain Drum and Bass, K-Bots, & Jupiter's Eye featured three out of four GFS members, along with other musicians. 
     In the summer of 2013, The GFS found themselves onstage together for a couple of songs for the first time in over two decades at the Jupiter's Eye reunion at USfest and the idea for a GFS reunion began percolating. Thanks mainly to Lisa and Seth Wertheim's motivation and planning, the idea came to fruition on July 1, 2015 in Atlantic Beach, NC during the infamous "Sharkmaggedeon" scare that saw GFS members enjoying exclusive ocean waves while the media-gullible beach goers huddled in fear or bravely waded in ankle deep shore break. 
     25 years after their split, the boys played again to a surprisingly decent-sized and raucous crowd just a couple of miles down the beach from the former location of the infamous Lisa's Bar & Grill, their once home-base on the now sanitized Atlantic Beach "Circle."  By the time they pulled out the original tune Mad Moons of Silver late in the first set, they were well warmed-up and solidifying what would prove to be one memorable night of music, as the jam at the end of the song well demonstrates. Special thanks to Ashely Brooks for recording the show.
