Just Another Song

What can I sing that hasn't been sung? There's nothing new under the sun. What can I say that hasn't been said? Everything's old inside my head. Love is worn-out, rhymes are passe. All the metaphors are cliche. What can I tell that hasn't been told? How will I spin my straw into gold? You've heard it before and you'll hear it again. It's all derivative, we borrow we lend. So I'll sing for myself. I won't fret anymore. I'll sing in the shower and I'll sing on the floor.

If my life were a movie and I were watching myself in it, I would tell me not to do what I'm about to do right now. It's an obvious mistake. turn around now, before it's too late. If my life were a movie  I'd watch through my fingers wishing that girl could hear me, somehow. But one thing I have learned, there is a point of no return and once you get there, there's no more time for thinking twice. Something else I've found in the time I've been around is that if you get there fast you dont even have to listen to your own advice.
