We Don't Talk About It

When we were putting the band together we ran across what we referred to as "Bedroom Guitarists". These were guys who just ripped on guitar but didn't really get the idea of the band as a collaboration. The message is simple: music is better when it's played together :)

Our ode to the Roman poet Lucretius may end in Latin vespers over a pipe organ but it gets there via lush, beautiful alt wave, with pop French lyrics riding a crest of jangly surf guitar.

"So I can write a song about a paranoid schizophrenic so long as I make it a love song?" - This question was the motivation for the opening track of our first album. Based on Into The Wild, the story of a doomed and bewildered man who dies alone in the Alaskan Wilderness, we wonder how far from love was he?

As The Crow Flies

MILL is a Charlottesville, Virginia based six piece indie rock band. Lead singers Laurel Williamson and Jess Otey deliver an organic rock/folk blend that features intimate harmonies layered over musically daring compositions. Drummer Ian Carter, bassist Danny Vinson and producer/guitarist Terry Thorsen provide interwoven acoustic and electronic instrumentations that spotlight the often brilliant viola, violin, cello and lead guitar work of Ray Varona. Recorded in a barn once frequented by fellow Charlottesvillians Dave Matthews and Shannon Worrell, MILL’s debut EP “We Don’t Talk About It” was released in 2014. Their full length self-titled album, MILL, was released in 2016.
