Umeed - NV

Mere Geeton Ke Alfaz

NV was formed by Naveed Masood in 2009 while studying at LUMS, where he honed his skills by playing several gigs for the university's music society. Following his degree's completion, Naveed headed to his hometown Karachi; while working for a leading newspaper, he directed his energies towards establishing the NV Recording Studios. In 2014 NV's first single Anjaana was released which attracted national TV and radio airplay. The band has also worked with ace producer Xulfi (of Nescafe Basement fame) on their third single titled 'Sawera', video for which is in the works. Currently NV is Pakistan's only one-man band - Naveed sings, plays drums, all guitars (acoustic, bass, electric) and produces them. He recently released Lathey on which all instruments were recorded live by Naveed (no sequencing) - it remains the only contemporary Rock version of the 50 year old Punjabi folk classic.
