"Joy" is the third album of original material by Rated Blue. This album is stylistically a bit more diverse than previous releases and features more vocal harmony and keyboard work to complement their visceral Power Trio sound.

Chances Are

An attempt to write a classical symphonic poem, heavily inspired by (and derivative of) late-romantic giants like Tchaikoivsky (my favourite composer of all times), Rimsky-Korsakov and others. While symphonic poems usually set existing works from literature to music, the theme for this work is original too, albeit very simple: a deep, dark and sleeping lake is awaken by a gentle breeze, which initially brings life, but then becomes a strong wind and agitates the lake causing a storm; until the wind leaves and the lake, alone once more, goes to sleep again. As usual, everything was written and recorded using open source and free tools: Ardour, MuseScore, Michael Willis's VPO template for Ardour, Sfizz, DragonFly Reverb and others.

Instrument sounds come from the Virtual Playing Orchestra (SFZ), using a variant of the SFZ files I edited myself.

Happy little accidents.
Went through my collection of sound snippets and found a song idea I recorded in June that I just barely remember recording.
Fast forward to this Sunday when I was gonna do some testing of the upcoming version of MusE and figured I might do that while making a recording of this idea. 
Now, two days later, it's time to let go so hope you enjoy :)
