Based out of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island,
Banokkburn formed in the summer of 2012. Made up of
three brothers and two long-time friends, the band
blends a straight-ahead style of simple but unforgettable rock n’ roll melodies, sing-along lyrics, and impressive guitar riffs to give Banokkburn their “sound”.
Formed in the basement of bass player, Daniel Cudmore’s house, the band spent their early sessions collaborating musical ideas into what has become a steady set of original tracks. During the winter of 2012 the band recorded a six-song acoustic demo cd titled “Down the Road” and released it to the public. Banokkburn also
submitted a demo to the Q93 Battle of the Bands competition and were selected into the top 8 finalists out of 24 submissions.
In their first ever live appearance, on February 19th, 2013 at The Guild in Charlottetown, Banokkburn blew people away with their live performance. The band went on to finish as the runner-up in the contest to the Chris Dalziel Band, impressing many along the way, including Harold Hutchinson, producer of The Studio at the Guild. Banokkburn entered the studio in late April with Harold Hutchinson and are set to release their seven song EP on July 18th, 2013 .
