ENGLISH: OSCAR L, an usual name and artist of Beatfreak Recordings, is an ever growing, established and respected artist, in and outside his country Spain. Having albums released on Toolroom Records, Harem, Baroque or Yoshitoshi and supported by artists like Roger Sanchez, Hernan Cattaneo or Sharam. DJ Boris is relevant new yorker artist, responsible for remixes for Janet Jakson, Gloria Estefan or Pink (Get this Party started charted No1 on Billboard Hot Club Play Party). Oscar L and Dj Boris are both bringing a new original work to Beatfreak called TRUMPET, the reference BF116, coming with a remix by TONE DEPTH (a familiar name on lots of charts and night clubs such an emblematic STEREO in Montreal, debuting on the compilation "Another World" (2000) by Paul Oakenfold and not stopping since then, doing remixes for U2, Gloria Gaynor or Armin Van Buuren). Impressive and explosive combination of artists. Oscar L and DJ Boris made a dance floor devastating track, with a constant and powerful groove keeping a "cool and catchy rhythm", the kind that make you want the song to never end. Besides, the trumpet (given the name to track), brings a dark and underground shade, mixing with dark voices making a sweeping mix of tension and good feeling. Moreover, the remix of Tone Depth has the unmistakable style of the artist. With heavier and deep beats while keeping the groove and the essence of the original. Oscar L & Boris - Trumpet (Original Mix) [BeatFreak Recordings]

Great Stuff Grooves returns to bring some electronic warmth into your winter, with a dozen hot tracks from producers across the world, both established and upcoming. David Penn kicks off with a fusion of filtered fun and chunky techno intent on I get High. From there, Spanish trio David Amo, Julio Navas & Marc Maya whip up a sizeable tribal groove on La Policia, passing the baton on to Filthy Rich and his nu skool speed garage romp Rave In A Cave. Ridney keeps it on a UK tip with the euphoric pianos and arpeggios of 13:37, before Boris' druggy Funky Bells shows that this compilation offers up deeper shades of techno too. Need more funk? Mike Newman & Hoxton Whores' Every Sound has it by the bucketload, as does Tom Wax's rolling, refreshingly different acid-bassed Let's Groove On. Roy Rosenfeld's Knock Knock is just bugged-out as hell, resplendent of quirky grooves and messed-up vocals, leading us towards the measured big room pumping of Paul Strive's The Chance. Raul Mezcolanza's A Reality treads a similarly bubbly path, before Townston & Delgado take a more playful approach with the deft stabs of Groovesolution. It's left to Alec Chizhik & Markus Mehta to give the compilation a more demure finale, with the subtle machinations of Monolith. Having opened the label doors to debutants from across the globe, many of which are just stepping out on their musical journey, SCI+TEC are happy to present a first release on the label from an artist who has been an integral cog in the US electronic music machine for many years.There are not many resident DJ's who can transport a whole dancefloor following from one club to another. Boris the St. Petersburg native and NYC resident did just that. With the imminent closure of his beloved Crobar and having built a huge loyal following through his three year residency, he simply uprooted, moved the 20 blocks north to Pacha New York and continued the party with his "Believe in Boris" faithful. Boris is the latest in a long line of NYC residents that have bonded tightly with their crowd and risen to become folk heroes, both in the US and across the pond. Having plied his groove-based power-house sound across the finest clubs in the US in the early 2000's, it wasn't long before Boris was lending his musical talents to remixing some of the biggest names in pop and finding his name at the top of the Billboard Club chart. On the underground, where he's most at home, Boris has wowed us with his club smashes "I Can't Wait"(Toolroom), "Ariba" (Great Stuff) and the classic "The Drums" (Nervous Records).His debut double-header for SCI+TEC sees Boris presenting his unrivalled dancefloor knowledge in the form of "Generate" and "Foul Beats". Nothing rotten here though, just two prime slices of techno. Whilst the a side warms us with its funky bassline and and elasticated poppin' riff, the b side is pure NYC with its heads-down no-nonsense pile-driver of a kickdrum. One for the darkrooms, its intense atmosphere and huge build will ensure many roof raising moments. Also included on the package is the equally intense and powerful digital exclusive cut, "Check It."
