After holding onto this one for quite awhile we finally had the chance to release a collaboration piece between The 25th Hr and Falcxne entitled Halcyon Ins. 

We took the opportunity to speak with the 25th hr (@the25thhr) about his creative process, inspirations and what it's like collaborating with falcxne (@falcxne).

Can you describe your style and where you're pulling inspiration from?

25th - Its a blend of what i grew up from my mothers taste and family influence of music. She'd play a lot of crystal waters and old school house, fleetwood mac , super tramp, jazz around christmas, and a lot of rnb and hiphop from like wutang to lauren, and jodeci to erykah. From all that I guess its a mix of darker electronic, and house vibes to jazz and psychedelic rock to rnb/ soul to hiphop it takes a lot of key genre stylistics and leans in more of a direction at times

What are you using when it comes to producing?

25th - Im using protools, and out board gear/rack gear and instruments. Drum kit, mpc 1000, nord drum, technic ux40 organ, nord electro, microkorg, yamaha cp20 electronic piano, roland sh1000 synth, percussion  instruments, standup apt piano, fender tele, 5 string jazz bass, and a bunch a plug ins. Im just a gear head at the end lf it

How did you get into producing?

25th - I just was always drawn to music, and creating. Tried being in the school choir when i was really young, played in the school band in elementary and just started producing and writing one summer and just constantly kept doing that, originally i wanted to write and didn't like the beats that i was finding so just kept making my own, and sampling at the early stages.

What's it like collaborating, in this case with falcxne?
25th - Working with falcxne is always good man, we both respect each others music a lot so we have that. i want to hear him sing on more tracks hahaha. I just told him i got something i could picture him playing guitar on and thought of his speaking in tongues tracks and he was feeling it so just went back and forth with some ideas.
