Rising talent Tibi Dabo, aka Max Guardans, brings his distinct and eloquent production to Rebellion this Summer with two tracks that will set dance floors alight across the globe. 

Title track La Dorada creates a brooding atmosphere with synths that weave together over industrial drum pads and an intricate, twinkling melody that descends into a crescendo of percussion. No Mantra adds a touch of elegance, with sparkling drum patterns and dreamy keys. Tibi Dabo ​explains that the title track is also the “the name of my childhood home near Barcelona”. By connecting his music and his hometown, or “safe space” as he calls it, he says he “can personally feel a close relationship between the two”. 

Tibi Dabo emerged on the scene with his first release Ende, picked up by Sasha and signed to his renowned imprint, Last Night On Earth. Having made the move from his home of Barcelona to the musical mecca of Berlin, Tibi Dabo creates infectious soundscapes that showcase his ability to conjure up music that plays out an abstract story. Having received a coveted Essential New Tune spot from Radio 1 tastemaker Pete Tong, and now signing to Damian Lazarus’ label, Tibi Dabo’s star is set to rise as he becomes ever-bold in his musical output.

Anjunadeep’s Explorations series returns with the highly anticipated ‘Explorations 08’. This edition plays host to five label debutants, whilst warmly welcoming back Tim Engelhardt and David Hohme.

The compilation opens with the original and instrumental mixes of Tim Engelhardt's and Lazarusman’s eccentric vocal-house track ‘This Life’. Moving from rhythmic claps for swirling synths, next up is Enamour's ‘Ruby’. First heard in the ABGT300 Deep Set, ‘Ruby’ marks an immense label debut for the American producer. Next, David Hohme & Dustin Nantais combine for 'Onward Only’ - a sweet vocal-led track of swelling synths. Closing out the compilation is the tribal ’Native Therapy’, a luxuriant arrangement of jungle sounds and deep subs by debutants Zone+ & M.O.S.

| Friends and bandmates since they were 15 there’s a bond between T.M.A (AKA Steven Szpielmann and
Patrick Steppons) that means they have an intuitive understanding of one another. In the studio this has led to
the production of spellbinding collection of music, full of emotional depth and dynamic rhythms. The pair play
live organic instruments, guitars and drums, which they merge with an electronic setup to produce a warm,
human sound. This is evident across all three tracks on their latest EP for Hommage, Aitne.

Kicking off with the title track, we’re immediately confronted with the duo’s instinctive use of melody and
rhythm to cultivate the kind of atmosphere that envelops you from the off. A wistful, impish vocal clips drifts in
and out of the background occasionally, coaxing you into a trance-like state, while the beats keep your body
moving. Tension, drama and simmering emotion make this one a fantastic start to the EP.

Next up is ‘Eirene’, a more punchy cut with razor sharp snares and hats, combined with a dense low end
designed to pump the dance floor full of irresistible energy. The track’s blackened sheen is juxtaposed by the
lively breakdown, which lifts the mood and carries us into the vibrant second half.

Lastly, label owners Monkey Safari step up for a remix of ‘Aitne’. They add a dreamlike atmosphere to the cut,
increasing its emotional appeal. This is one for the lovers out there, who’ll be wrapped in each others’ arms on
the dance floor, as the romantic, thought-provoking melody sends them into the throes of ecstasy. |

Capturing the current world mood perfectly - the tension, the frustrating pace, the pent-up emotion and that feeling of absolute longing for friends, family, normality to return - 'Safe' is one of the most fitting lockdown soundtracks you'll hear all pandemic.

The latest in a long line of breath-taking emotion-laden hitters (think 'Hi', 'Mantra' and 'Gira' in the last year alone) the unstoppable Monkey Safari roll out an eight minute moment of calm in an otherwise chaotic, uncertain world. Disarming chord progressions, a gradual sense of release and hope and a spoken word sample that will bring many to tears, 'Safe' is one of Monkey Safari's most thoughtful and well-executed tracks to date.

'Just a few months ago, when our lives had not been upside-down yet, we produced 'Safe' as a message of unity, hope, and love. Just a normal day in the studio. But now, in these days of social isolation, it seems 'Safe' represents exactly our feelings when we look at the empty world outside.
