Nie Wieder Schlafen is back on course, as we return roughly 5 months after our last release. As we slowly crumble out of the winter season and a long lasting virus lockdown, we are incredibly grateful to open the doors with our newcomer duo Broj. The Amsterdam project shows incredible potential in the realms of the indie electronica space, though has yet to see the appreciation it deserves. With a handful of self-releases and a first release on Minds Alike, the duo has placed themselves on the map for Nie Wieder Schlafen's rooster in the coming years.

Their debut is filled with 3 diverse productions, ranging between acoustic-focused electronica and slight deep house influences. "Brothers" is a clear statement at the potential range of Broj, already very much capable of creating widely appreciated electronica productions for masses, while the finishing track "Real Eyes" delivers a club oriented vision that feels more stripped, offering deeper spaces within the same framework of the duo's style, which is already crystalizing in these early days. Main title track "Revere" combines the influences from both directions and is capable to provide a serving from each side of their musical spectrum, as guitar leads and striking hi-hat rhythms gently splash against distant vocal chants and indie synths, all wrapped beautifully with cinematic violins and percussive effects.

Broj - Revere [Nie Wieder Schlafen]

Es ist eben so mit den Dingen, die anders sind alles andere, dass niemand mit ihnen rechnet, bevor sie da sind. So verhält es sich wohl auch mit dem Album ‚Momoko' des Elektropop-Trios DAS MAER, einem Sammelsurium aus allerlei unterhaltsamen und doch tiefgründigen Kuriositäten, erträumt in einer schlaflosen, isolierten Woche in der Mineaturmetropolis Heidenheim, das nun nach mehr als einjähriger Feinarbeit erscheint. Die Mär vom MAER beginnt mit einem Tanzbären, so unscheinbar zunächst wie drollig, der sich aus Berlin auf eine Reise durch den musikalischen Untergrund begab, auf viel Wohlwollen stieß und so aus einem Einweg-Projekt ein etabliertes Trio zauberte. Auf der anderen Seite der Geschichte steht nun das Debütalbum desgleichen in den Startlöchern: Momoko, der namensgebende Spielzeugroboter, inspirierte DAS MAER – bestehend aus Elektroszeneveteranen Yannek Maunz, Brascon und Johanson – zu einer Langspielplatte, die ihrer ersten Silbe würdig ist. Mehr als eine Stunde klangliches Kontrastprogramm – von Violine und Kinderchor bis TB-03 und Autotune – erwartet Hörerin und Hörer hier. Darin gebettet Geschichten, Fantasien und Klamaukgedichte übers Erwachsenwerden, Verliebtsein, Feiern, das Fahren im 40-Tonner oder im Nachtbus, manchmal herzzerreißend melancholisch, manchmal weltfremd optimistisch und immer mal wieder tief zwischen den Zeilen versteckt. Dem Credo ihres bisherigen Schaffens bleiben die drei Kollaborateure treu: immer der Intuition nach, Genre-Grenzen beherzt überschreiten und sich vor allem nie zu ernst nehmen. Da ist es nun also: Etwas, das so noch nie war und das sich doch so anfühlt, als hätte man es sich schon immer gewünscht

Hell Yeah's lovingly curated Buena Onda series is back with a new edition that focuses on Adriatic Beats & Beyond. It has been assembled by label head Marco Gallerani and features four exclusive new tunes that reflect his summer residences at a cosy beach bar on Italy's Eastern and Adriatic coast.

Marco moved back to his hometown of Ferrara after the pandemic and began spending more time at the local seaside, the famous Lidi Ferraresi. It's there, at Lido di Spina, that a friend runs Kai Beach Bar, a small spot where, every Thursday throughout August for the last three years, he has soundtracked afternoons and sunsets under the Buena Onda banner, more than a decade after the party first started in Berlin.

"The beat has become less Balearic, more Adriatic," he explains of the sounds that can be heard up and down the coastline. "There’s no sunset culture yet, but they like a groove for aperitivo. This selection reflects the music I propose there, a kinda sunrise to sunset trip."

The 13-track selection includes four exclusives: the first is Blende's 'Amor,' which is forthcoming on the label. Johan Blende is a Swedish producer, songwriter and DJ who weaves together modern dance with retro sounds of the 70s and 80s and debuts on the label this summer with his Recess EP. 'Amor' is a bubbly groove with a New Age wash and lo-fi pads full of charm.

Hell Yeah regular and Italian magic man Walter Del Vecchio aka Quiroga also offers a new Baia Club Ambient Version of 'French Kiss' which has a lazy acid line worming its way through dubby kicks and tabla drums, and his dreamy electro soother 'Cala Ventosa' also features. Secret Soul Society, aka South Wales's Cal Gibson, also tests a new EP with his 'Orange Surprise' blending off-balance rhythmic shuffles with starry cosmic melodies. The final exclusive is from Balearic Gabba Sound System, who flip The Vendetta Suite aka the legendary Gary Irwin's 'Della Notte' into a quietly epic cinematic closer with icy analogue beats and a warped bassline for dubbed out late night escape. His 'Island Hill Microdot' also offers some warped cosmic ambient house introspection.

Elsewhere, Michele Mininni features twice - once with Gallo's Tropical Hinterhof Remix of the suspensory ambient lushness pop 'Carousel of Tears' and once with the original percussive pressure and hip-house fusion of 'Urban Voodoo' from his Pop Archetypes LP. Buena Onda veteran Feel Fly comes through with an Estatico Danzante Remix of Pedro Bertho's 'Tornei' feat Mariana Gehring and takes us to the stars on twinkling keys, dusty breakbeats and steamy vocals that glow as warm as a setting sun.

Add in further groovy gems such as Bonnie and Klein's synth and vibes laced 'Horizon Avenue,' dreamy, breaks-driven downtempo brilliance from pub wave innovator Dawn Again, hints of Ibiza cool from Willie Graff's remix of Aura Safari & Jimi Tenor and some upbeat synth-laced house from label stalwart Luminodisco and you have a faultless collection of grooves for grown up dance floors.

Buran, which means "snowstorm" in Russian, flew one time. Space shuttle represented a new form of development for space vehicles. Up until 1982, space vehicles, even those that carried humans, were launched for only one mission at a time, except for certain military test programs. A shuttle, on the other hand, could be used multiple times. Three-Two-One, Pusk!
